thanks and deep sense of gratitude to the individuals who helped and supported them in

making this research paper possible.

First and foremost, to the Almighty God who guided them throughout their

research study. Without Him, the researchers wouldn’t have the courage and strength to

finish this study.

To their parents for their kind encouragements and love that they gave

endlessly. And providing them good advice and financial support, the product of this

research paper would not be possible without all of them.

To Mr. Erwin L. Purcia, their research adviser who have gave his great efforts of

handling and leading them to accomplish this research study and for the support he

gave to them.

To their families and friends who gave their support and love, the researchers

thank them all and wish them all the best in their lives.

To the respondents who’ve participated in filling the questionnaire, without

them, the researchers wouldn’t have finished this research study. The researchers

thank them all for believing in them to accomplish this fine work.

Dedication

“Intangible”

Shrouded within the darkness devoured sky

You were the light, the silver lining of my life

Drowning beneath an avalanche of lies

You took my hand and slithered thy shackles and ties.

Born without teeth and shivers crawling within my spine

You gave me warmth and sung lullabies of mine

Every note of your comforting voice gave me hope

Every silent embrace of your soul kept my ship afloat

The bond is imaginary

The link is an illusion

The line is a mirage

A perfect solution.

I see it none but it is existent, between a mother and a child

I hear it none but it is true between every caress, sweet and mild

I know it is there for love can be felt

Intangible it may be but tangible at heart.

Abstract

For the past three consecutive years, Calbayog City National High School

experienced a huge decline on the National Achievement Test results in the subject

mathematics. On the year 2012 to 1013, the school marked 60.77 on the NAT results in

the subject mathematics. On 2013 to 2014, the score declined to 48.67. And on the

latest available NAT result for the 2014-2015, the school got 32.17. With this, the

researchers conducted this study entitled “Mathway Application in Learning

mathematical Concepts”.

This study utilized two-group quasi-experimental via pre-test and posttest design

as research design and universal purposive sampling technique to determine the

population and sample. Questionnaires in a form of Pre-test and posttest with attached

fill out forms for profiling were given among respondents to gather necessary data which

was used to determine the effectiveness of the mathway application.

Then the data were analyzed and interpreted using statistical tools namely: T-test

via SPSS version 20 to find the significant difference, Frequency and Percentage for the

profile and the mean for the test results.

The researchers found out that respondents who have undergone intervention

program perform better on test than those who did not. Thus, Mathway application is an

effective tool that can be used to learn mathematical concepts especially in the subject

pre-calculus. But then, the researchers recommend that the school should provide wifi

connection for students to fully use the Mathway application to the highest extent.
