Programming
COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
Students explore computer concepts, apply logic
procedures, and implement programming procedures
with one or more languages, such as Scratch, Python,
and C++. Graphic User Interfaces, such as Alice, Game
Maker, and Flash may be used as students design and
develop interactive multimedia applications. In addition,
HTML is employed to create Web pages.
AP Computer Science Principles
This course addresses the big ideas and computational
practices of computer science with students utilizing
Scratch and Processing languages for programming.
Course lessons focus on computer science applications
through project-based, inquiry-based, and collaborative
learning. Through this collaborative, learner-centered
approach, students are encouraged to explore the
advantages and societal impact of computational
technology while developing their own programming and
computational thinking skills.

Cloud Technology I Cloud Technology II

Become a cloud professional! Students will be
introduced to cloud computing technologies used by
Amazon Web Services (AWS) to enhance business
operations. The self-paced, online AWS Educate
curriculum provides students with options to explore a
variety of cloud careers. Topics include Cloud Basics,
Application Development, Solutions Architecture, and
Cloud Support.
Students will have the opportunity to continue exploring
AWS Educate Career Pathways, building their resume
upon completion of sections. Students will enroll in the
Amazon Cloud Practitioner Course which culminates
with the AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification, an
industry-recognized credential. At the age of 18,
students can have their AWS Educate resumes reviewed
by AWS Human Resources and students will have access
to the AWS job board to apply for positions with AWS.

Preferred Elective: Principles of Global Business (To be taken at any point during the Pathway)
Students discover the roles of business, marketing, and technology in the free enterprise system and the global economy. Students
will analyze business operations and technologies utilizing strategies to enhance the globalization, efficiency, and sustainability of
businesses in a web based world/economy. Basic financial concepts of banking, insurance, credit, inheritance, taxation, and
investments are investigated to provide a strong background as students prepare to make sound decisions as entrepreneurs and
business managers. The real-world impact of technology, effective communication, and interpersonal skills is evident throughout
the course.
