III. PROJECT BACKGROUND

Mindanao Mission Academy is a school operated by the Seventh-day Adventist. It was

established in 1947 to fulfill the need of the youth in terms of education in a Seventh-day Adventist

setting. The school compromises the provinces of Misamis Oriental and Bukidnon. It is located in

a 20-hectare lot along the national highway of Manticao, Misamis Oriental.

The institution became a converging points for students coming from different parts of the

Philippines and some are coming from the other country that is why the school constructed a two

dormitory that is separately for the boys and for the girls. In order to be safe, the students are

protected by a gate with guards supervising the surroundings. In which the students are prohibited

to go outside without permission. Safeness is the most concerned issue of the parents here in

Mindanao Mission Academy, because as parents, it is normal to worry about the safety of their

children.

As a student, they have the responsibility to go to school for them to learn and to gather new

knowledge with the help of their teachers. Education is the most powerful weapon which we can

use to change the world. But nowadays, being in school is a great opportunity but then there are a

lot of students who didn’t grab the opportunity, instead they just neglect it. They prefer to go
outside the campus instead of going inside the school because for them school seems so boring

without even knowing that school is one of the keys to success.

Mindanao Mission Academy nowadays have an issue regarding those students who skip

classes without asking the permission of their teachers and they usually cut class using the back

doors.

Because of this issue, there is a great need of an additional fence for the Mindanao Mission

Academy High school campus. In that way, the issue regarding the increase number of students

who skip classes without the permission of their teachers will slowly decrease. This project can

help the school, the faculty, the teachers, or the MMA family as a whole.

IV. PROBLEM STATEMENT

Mindanao Mission Academy is an institution with a fast growing population of students. There

are some students who are “dormitorians” and most of the students are outsiders. The institution

have a lot of guards but still there are a lot of students that were able to skip classes without asking

the permission of their teachers and because of lack of the fences inside the campus that is why

students grab the opportunity to skip class.

When we will not find a solution for this problem this will lead to an addition of students who

will skip class because they will be influenced by others. Schooling is very important so that this

issue should be resolved. Provided with an additional fence inside the institution, the teachers will

not be able to worry. Having a school campus with enough fence can provide convenience to the

students, parents, and teachers in Mindanao Mission Academy.

V. GOALS AND OBJECTIVE

The proposed of the construction of additional fence for the school campus will diminish

or eradicate the number of students who always skip class and also it will give a secure safety

of the students.

VI. BENEFICIARIES
