B. Priming
1. Recall
Last meeting, we discussed DNA
molecule and DNA replication.

Let’s have a short review.

Again, how many pairs of


chromosomes do the human body have?
There are 23 pairs of chromosomes Ma’am.

Very good! And these chromosomes


are made up of a chemical substance
called DNA.
What DNA stands for?
Deoxyribonucleic acid Ma’am.
Very good! How about RNA?
Ribonucleic acid Ma’am.
Where can we find the DNA and RNA
molecule?
Inside the cell Ma’am.
Okay very good!

Now, to differentiate DNA from RNA,


let’s have a short recap game. You need
to paste the word/words according to its
correct designation. I need volunteers
from the class. Who wants to try?

2. Motivation
I’m going to play a video on how DNA
produce proteins inside the cell. While I’m
preparing the video please sit properly
and keep silent.

So for your activity I will group you
into three. All groups should paste their
work into the board. Please read the
instructions at the back of the envelope
before you start. You need to finish it for 10
minutes only.

Transcription.

The picture is about the process called
Translation.

E. Abstraction
So, all of these pictures are the
components of our main lesson for today
called protein synthesis.

As you can see here on the board,


there are three processes involved in
protein synthesis. The first process is what
we called DNA replication, followed by the
process transcription and translation. For
you to understand it well, everybody kindly
look at the screen and listen attentively.
