Contiene diferentes puntos de conexión, denominados


puertos, retransmitiendo cada paquete de datos recibidos
por uno de los puertos a los demás puertos.

El Hub básicamente extiende la funcionalidad de la red


(LAN) para que el cableado pueda ser extendido a mayor
distancia, es por esto que puede ser considerado como una
repetidor.

Se utiliza para implementar redes de topología estrella y


ampliación de la red LAN.

Introducción a TCP/IP

Se creó como un proyecto militar en los años 70´s.

La igual que el modelo OSI es un conjunto de reglas establecidas entre dispositivos con la
finalidad de permitir una comunicación fluida y fiable entre ellos.

Difiere levemente del modelo OSI

Es el conjunto de recursos, tales como las líneas de transmisión, enlaces y nodos de conmutación,
que permiten la comunicación entre usuarios de los terminales (teléfonos, estaciones de datos, etc.)
conectados a ellas.

LAN

Local Area Network (LAN), permite conectar varios


dispositivos en una misma área geográfica.

Sin embargo no son simples de planificar, en el momento de


implementar se debe hacer un estudio de ingeniería con el
objetivo de disponer del equipamento adecuado para la
puesta en marcha.

Definimos Topología de red o forma lógica de la misma, como la forma en la que


están distribuido los distintos nodos y la cadena que usan para comunicarse entre
ellos.

Una red tiene dos topologías una física, que seria la forma en la que están colocados
los PC y otra lógica que serian la forma, o método que utilizan para comunicarse con
los demás nodos.

Red en Estrella:

Solamente tiene un enlace punto a punto


dedicado con el dispositivo central.

No permite el trafico directo de dispositivos.


El dispositivo central actua como un
intercambiador: si un dispositivo quiere
enviar datos a otro, envia los datos al
controlador, que los restransmite al
dispositivo final.

Red en Arbol:

Desde una visión topológica, la conexión en


árbol es parecida a una serie de redes en
estrella interconectadas.

Es una variación de la red en bus, la falla de un


nodo no implica interrupción en las
comunicaciones.

Es similar a la topología en estrella, salvo en


que no tiene un nodo central. En cambio, un
nodo de enlace troncal, generalmente ocupado
por un hub o switch, desde el que se ramifican
los demás nodos.

esta conectado a uno o mas de los otros
nodos.

Es posible llevar los mensajes de un nodo


a otro por diferentes caminos.

Todas las estaciones estan conectadas a un


unico canal de comunicaciones por medio de
unidades interfaz y derivadores.

Fisicamente cada host se encuentra conectado


a un cable comun, por lo que se pueden

En este tipo de Red los nodos se colocan


formando un círculo lógico.

Hay que tener en cuenta que en este tipo


de red los mensajes circulan solo en una

Power over Ethernet - Dispositivos

• Los PSE pueden implementar modo A, modo B o ambos (pero no pueden entregar potencia
en los dos modos al mismo tiempo).

• Un PD indica que cumple con el estandar colocando un resistor de 25kΩ entre los pares
sobre los cuales espera la potencia.

• Si el PSE detecta una resistencia que es demasiado alta o demasiado baja (incluyendo un
corto), no se entrega potencia. Esto proteje a los dispositivos que no soportan el estandar
IEEE802.3af.

• Una caracteristica opcional llamada “power class” permite a los PD indicar sus
requerimientos de potencia al cambiar la resistencia detectada en altos voltajes. Para tener
potencia, el PD debe utilizar de forma continua 5-10mA por lo menos durante 60ms con no
menos de 400ms desde el ultimo uso o sino la potencia sera retirada por el PSE.

Gateway
Puerta de Enlace o Gateway es un equipo o elemento que perteneciendo a la red, esta configurado
para que los PC’s que integran dicha red, puedan salir al exterior.

Generalmente realiza operaciones de traducción de direcciones IP (NAT: Network Address


Translation). A esta capacidad de traducción de direcciones permite aplicar una técnica llamada IP
Masqueradin (enmascaramiento de IP), usada muy a menudo para dar acceso a internet a los
equipos de una red de área local compartiendo una única conexión a la nube y por tanto, una única
dirección IP externa o podría decirse una dirección pública. Generalmente un gateway o puerta de
enlace, es un router, aun cuando esa función la podría hacer igualmente un PC. A la dirección IP de
