- a letter written to request information


- It deals with various matters like job vacancies, funding, grants, scholarships, etc.

CONTENT OF AN INQUIRY LETTER

- State who you are and give your status (student, researcher, consumer)
- Tell how you found out about the individual/entity you are writing to.
- State what it is you’re inquiring about and what you would like the recipient to do. Make
your inquiry as specific as possible.
- Briefly explain the purpose of your letter and what you hope to accomplish
- Include the date by which you need the information that you’re requesting.
- Thank the person for his/her time.

On a 1 whole sheet of paper, write an inquiry letter for the situation below.

Suppose you are an incoming college freshman and you are looking for a boarding house to
rent. You saw an advertisement on Facebook Marketplace.

The ad says:

WE ACCEPT BEDSPACER. MALE ONLY.
