A 'Sahasranama Archanai' typically means worshipping him with his

1000 names, as 'Sahasranama' means 1000. Women, who wish to

proceed on he family way, need to worship Lord Bhairava for 6
continuous 'Theipirai Ashtami' or the Eight day following the full moon
with red oleander flowers to be blessed with a great child. On
worshipping Lord Bhairava with the leaves of Aegle Marmelos or
the wood apple tree on Friday evenings besides other fragrant flowers
one is relieved of poverty.

The planet Saturn or Lord Shaneesh-war was

one of the sons of Lord Surya or the Sun. He was
humiliated by his brother Lord Yama or the God
of Death. As per the advice from his beloved
mother Sri Chaya Devi, Lord Shani wor-shipped
Lord Bhairava. Lord Bairava blessed him with an
outstanding and powerful position amongst the
nine planets malting Lord Shani the most
influential amongst them. Lord Bhairava is the
Guru of Lord Shani and hence praying to Lord
Bhairava on Saturday by chanting the
Sahasranamam will liberate one from the
miserable 7 and year term under the influence of
Lord Shani, and other testing periods due to the
influence of Lord Shani, and brings in good luck.
On Sundays during the 'Raghu Kaal' between
04:30pm and O6:OOpm, Lord Bhairava has to be
worshipped by a 'Rudrabhishegam' or 'Bathing
him with the sacred ash or Vibhuthi', offering
him a garland of deep fried Urad Dal vadas and
chanting the Sahasrana-mam. This Sunday
prayer eliminates the hurdles in marriage and
gets one married quickly. Those who
continuously worship Lord Bhairava attain
higher levels of 'Agama Tantric Knowl-edge' and
their chances of receiving superior knowledge or
'Upaasanai' from their respective Gurus. On
chanting this 'Sahasranamam' consecutively for
9 times and offering Lord Bhairava
with a variety of foods like Curd rice, Tamarind
rice, Coconut, honey and fruits one can gain
victory in Judicial proceedings. This will also
save the worshipper from all types of negative
energies and black magic performed by the
enemies and provides him Lord Bhairava's
complete protection.
The term 'Vadu' refers to being young or a
Bachelor. Raw premature mangoes are
commonly referred to as 'Maa-Vadu' in Tamil
Nadu. As Bhairava is always young and beyond the
concept of time and old age he is called 'Vaduga'
Bhairava.
