SCOPE - To provide youth/teen staff guidelines for best practices as well as general information regarding the
Entourage and teen program.

DETAILS

1.0 General Supervision and Security

1.1 A password that is familiar to the family and Pick up persons must be provided.
1.1.1. For any adult requesting to speak or seek information regarding a teen, password must be
provided.
1.2. Only registered teens are authorized to enter the Entourage or participate in any teen activity.
1.3. All Entourage activities are strictly for ages 13-17. (REF. YTP11-0004 for Age Bumping)
1.4. When a teen enters the program they must have their key card and wristband checked by a counselor.
1.4.1. $20.00 fee will apply for bracelet replacements.
1.5. Teen Counselors must always position themselves to provide the best supervision.
1.6. The Entourage must always have a Teen Counselor physically present during operating hours, therefore,
when the Teen Counselor is on a break time, Entourage must be closed/locked.
1.7. Teen Counselors are required to monitor the age of all attendees as a primary duty when Entourage is in
operation every day /every session of the sailing

2.0 Monitoring the content of media

2.1 All music must contain clean lyrics.
2.2 All movies must be NCL provided movies.
2.3 Video games must be monitored by staff to ensure they are all age appropriate.
2.4 Jukeboxes are strictly for teens and should not be used within a Entourage Take Over program.
2.5 During embarkation/registration, a family friendly playlist should be played. Jukebox must not be
played.
2.6 Karaoke songs must be monitored by counselors to ensure all selections are appropriate.

3.0 Social interaction with teens

3.1 Teen counselors must never talk about the following topics:
3.1.1 religion, politics, private family matters, money, health problems, personal information,
appearance if not positive, emergency codes, negative talk about colleagues, the company
or other guests, confidential matters as per company policy, sexual orientation.
3.2 Teen counselors are encouraged to talk about the following topics
3.2.1 weather, destinations, hobbies, family, books, current or upcoming ports, films, hometown,
current events, entertainment, sports, news or welcome their presence.
3.3 Teen counselors should be aware of undesirable behavior within their program. Teen Counselors
should notify the YPM/YPA of the inappropriate behavior to clarify the course of action.
3.3.1 Inappropriate behavior includes but is not limited to: profanity, aggression, vandalism,
indecent exposure, verbal abuse, etc.

4.0 Scavenger Hunts

4.1 Teen Counselors must promote safety in and out of Entourage.
4.2 Teen counselor must implement scavenger hunt rules before every hunt. The following rules must be
included, but are not limited to.
4.2.1 Safety rules: No running and the careful use of stairways. Elevators must not be used.
4.2.2 Respect: Guests and crew members should never be put in an uncomfortable or hostile
situation.

4.2.3 Cabins and crew areas should be avoided.

4.3 During a scavenger hunt Entourage facilities are still available for teens that missed the hunt. Teens
should never be denied access to Entourage when advertised as open.

5.0 Activity Selection and Appropriate Programming

5.1 Teen counselors must submit their programs to YPM/YPA for reviewing before sending to print.
5.2 The total time of activities outside Entourage should not exceed 3 consecutive hours and 5 total hours
in a day.
5.3 Activities including food such as Brunch, midnight snacks are not authorized.
5.4 YPM/YPA must ensure the teen program reflects a fun and engaging program before scheduling
shows.
5.5 The following topics/references are not allowed in any Entourage programs:
5.5.1 Gender, Relationships, Dating, Physical Appearance, Romance, Intimacy, Open Ended
Questions, Best/Most in Titles
5.6 Removing of any clothing is strictly prohibited during any activity.
