Saving your changes permanently to the device

Once you have finished configuring the system to Buffer and Push data to your central Historian it is
time to save the changes you have made permanently to the image.

1. Make the desired changes.

2. Test the changes that have been made to ensure that they work as expected.
3. From the command line, run ewfmgr c: -commit.
4. Reboot the system. (The device may take several minutes to reboot depending on the amount
of data that needs to be committed to the C: drive from the Overlay.) If you are connected via a
remote session press CTRL+ALT+END. This will bring up the Windows Security window which
will allow you to restart the system remotely.

How to discard changes that have not been saved to the device
If for some reason an issue occurs with the Data Logger and you are not able to undo the recent changes
manually, you can revert the box to the last “committed” state following the steps below.

1. From the command line, run ewfmgr c: -restore (This will return the box to the state where
changes were last committed)
2. Reboot the system. (The device may take several minutes to reboot depending on the amount
of data that needs to be committed to the C: drive from the Overlay.) If you are connected via a
remote session press CTRL+ALT+END. This will bring up the Windows Security window which
