Based on the results of 2018 Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA).

Among 79 participating countries or economies the Philippines ranked dead last in reading, and
we ranked second last in both mathematics and science (beating only the Dominican Republic).
This leads us to our objective that is to improve the reading performance of the students.
