Legislative drafting can be considered the driving force of such a wonderful nation. The most
interesting aspect about legislative drafting is the fact that how few words of the legislature can
drastically affect the life of the citizens, also there is a need for efficiently trained law
professional with profound knowledge of not only law but also legislative drafting as it requires
intense practice to create an effective draft. I can deliver to all such requirements as legislative
drafting is a game of skill and a separate discipline.
The inefficiency of the previous enactment drives me to be in the profession of legislative
drafting, to overcome the inefficiencies and to offer practical solution to the problems of my
fellow citizens. The primary driving force is the fact that drafting is never ending as in the words
of C.K. Allen there is no perfect draft, it is only an ideal and one must reduce inefficiencies to a
workable minimum.
The direct effect of legislative drafting on fellow citizens, the never ending effort to make the
draft perfect makes me interested in the legislative drafting attached in this voluntary internship
program by Ministry of Law and Justice, Legislative Department, Institute of Legislative
Drafting and Research (ILDR).
