Ishikawa Zoo was opened in October 1999 at its present location. The
Zoo has an area of 23 ha and hosts 3500 exhibits of 170 species that
include mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles, fish and so on. The Zoo
has a variety of attractions such as animal petting corner, animals’
food & diet guides, breathtaking displays, all of which create a feeling
of intimacy towards these animals. The zoo staff has also been putting
a lot of emphasis on eco-friendly activities such as making compost
from the animal waste or recycling the rain water and so on.
