A Lesson Plan in English IV

I. Objectives:
After the lesson, the students can:
a. identify characters in a story;
b. understand new set of words;
c. ;
d. share ideas about the importance of knowing singular and plural nouns; and
e. volunteer in giving examples of singular and plural nouns in front of the class.

III. Procedure:

A. Approach

1. Opening Prayer to be led by a student

“We already discussed that Nouns can refer to one or more than one person, animal, place or thing.
So now lets move on to another topic the Types of nouns . But before that let’s have an activity first.
Whoever will participate will get a price after class. Let’s start! “

4. Motivation

Observe the pictures in the board. What have you observe? “ What do you think is the Type of Noun
represented by the picture on the left side? how about on the right side?

What do you think our lesson for today?

B. Presentation
1. Simple Discussion

Thank you for participating class, so our lesson for today are types of nouns specifically Singular and Plural
Nouns

“So class the pictures on the left represents SINGULAR NOUNS while on the right these are PLURAL
NOUNS”

“ If these are Singular Nouns what do you think Singular nouns mean? Anyone? (ask 1 student)

“Singular nouns mean a noun that names one person, place or thing. Can you give me some example
class? (ask 3 students)
“So the examples are a boy. Cat, House , paper”

-Move on to another topic-

“ If Singular Nouns means a noun that names only one person, place or thing how about Plural nouns?
(Ask 1 student)

“ So plural nouns names more than one person place or thing. Can you give an example class? ( ask 3
students)

“ Examples are boys, cats, houses, papers”

“There are many rules if we are talking about Plural Nouns but for today lets focus on the first one, this
is the adding of the letter s to those nouns that are singular nouns to make it in a plural form. We add
letter s to most of the nouns to show plural forms. “

“ For example: boy -boys, cat-cats, house-houses, Paper-Papers” and many more

“Class can you give me another example” (Ask 2 students)

Rule 1: The plural of nouns is usually formed by adding 's'to a singular noun

Example :

Shoe-shoes

Ball-balls

VALUE INTEGRATION

So class what is the importance of knowing the types of nouns?

Is it important in our everyday living?


Knowing singular and plural noun is very important in our everyday life,
because of this we will know the exact amount of what we have. Like, the food
that we have if it’s for your own then its okay that you have less, but if you
have visitor its more better if you have many.
APPLICATION

Now class, we will have an activity. I have here some terms of the parts of the body. I need two
volunteers to place each picture in there designated places whether it is belong to Singular Nouns or Plural
nouns. Okay game?
