MURDER

NARRATOR: Good morning, please watch our one act play about murder. How can we
resolve the case if there is no strong evidence? How to proved that he/she kills the
innocent person? That is our case today.
One night Maverick Lorena will be going to his work and he need to walk alone until
he reach in the second street.

MAVERICK: (knock the door) bro Arnel!

ARNEL: Why are you here? It’s already evening.
MAVERICK: Our friend called me and he need back up on a band. Are you come with
me?
ARNEL: I will take my dinner first, if you want you may go now and I will follow you
later if I’m done in my dinner.
MAVERICK: Ok bro! make it fast.

NARRATOR: Maverick is walking on the dark street.

MAVERICK: Oh! Why the parking lot of tricycles are so far? It is almost 7pm, I am late
now.
BEN: (taking drugs)
MAVERICK: Oh! There is a person. Who is that, and what are he doing in this dark
street? Huh!!!

NARRATOR: He slowly moved and stare what he doing. He continued walking until he
saw Ben, and he knew that Ben is using Cigarette.

MAVERICK: What are you doing here Bro Ben?

BEN: Ah EH!!! (take the drugs that he hold)
MAVERICK: What are you holding?
BEN: You don’t care!!! That is none of your business
MAVERICK: Don’t say that, are you holding drugs? And you are using drugs?
BEN: (immediately punch) stop stop!!! You want to die??? Huh!

NARRATOR: Maverick punched back. And the two are fighting. When Ben and
Maverick fighting, Arnel is approaching, Arnel didn’t know that Maverick is the one
who are in trouble. Then when he comes nearer he saw Maverick and Ben.

ARNEL: Hey! Hey! stop that, what are you doing???

NARRATOR: Ben run away, and Arnel call a help.

ARNEL: Bro, are you okay? Broooooo HELP HELP HELP!!!

NARRATOR: They rush him in the hospital but he didn’t survive and he died. They call
the police to investigate what happen. The family of Maverick files a case. Base on the
investigation, they arrest BEN VISTA and the case goes to the supreme court.
NARRATOR: In the first trial, BEN VISTA declared by the low supreme court of law
that he is not guilty under reasonable doubt because they don’t have enough
evidences to prove that he is the killer. The family of the victim file again a case in the
high supreme court of law and this time they already have a witness.
JUDGE MAVERICK:Good morning, please be seated. Id like to call the case of spelt
MAVERICK LORENA VS. BEN VISTA, the case is procide as follows a both parties
apportunity to precent the references id like to have each party present no things
statement brief and nature telling the court what being to prove and why they prove
the issue is to be decide and after that statement will present the evidences.
ARNEL: I will promise in this court that I will say the truth in all the time and I will
only state what I saw. I swear, that if I lie I will receive the punishment of purjery.
AYESSA: please state what happened.
ARNEL: That night, Maverick fetch me because our friend needs a resback for band.
That time I told him to go first and I will just follow him when I’m done in my dinner.
AYESSA: why did you let him go first if its ok for you to went together?
ARNEL: I don’t want him to disturb.
AYESSA: then what happened next?
ARNEL: He proceed then after how many minutes I follow him. When I was in the dark
road I am shocked when I hear the voices as it is were fighting. When I come up nearer
in the source of the voices, I saw in my two eyes that a man fights maverick. I shouted
them and the man look at me. He run away and I help Maverick and I saw the a blood
beyond his neck.
AYESSA: so ,,, you saw the man who killed.
ARNEL: yes.
AYESSA: then who is he? Is he here now in this court?? You may reveal him and
point it out by your right hand?
ARNEL: ( point it) BEN VISTA.
AYESSA: are you sure he is??
ARNEL: yes.

ANGEL: how can you say so that BEN is the murderer? do you have a strong
evidence?
ARNEL: he is the one I saw, I saw him with my two eyes and this is enough your
honor. I will not say that he is the murderer if I didn’t saw him.
ANGEL: Maybe you are only pointing someone but the truth is you are the one who
killed? Am I right?
AYESSA: Objection your honor,
JUDGE: But the question is accepted, atty. Continue questioning.
ANGEL: what did you do when you them fighting??
ARNEL: I shout for them to stop but I don’t know that bro maverick is already
bloodied. Then BEN run away.
ANGEL: you said a while ago that the road is dark then how can you saw that
person?
ARNEL: in that night the moon is bright and I have a flashlight use and also my cp.
ANGEL: in the use of flashlight of you cp you already sure?
ARNEL: the voices I heard is familiar to me. Ben is my neighbor

ANGEL: where are you that night Mr. Ben vista?

BEN: But your honor, I didn’t know that person, even his name, and yet he I am just
in my room that night.
ANGEL: Did you know him?
BEN: No your honor.
ANGEL: But Mr. ARNEL said a while ago that the voice he heard is familiar and that
voice is came from you.
BEN: I didn’t know him and I had been never meet him before.

AYESSA: You said that you are in your room right? Is there someone with you in your
room?
BEN: Yes your honor, I said that a while ago. I am alone that night and I don’t have
any relatives left.
AYESSA: So how can you proved that you are in your room that night?
BEN: …
AYESSA: Your honor, he didn’t answer my question so that he is no proof.
ANGELICA: Objection your honor, my client has a right to remain silence.

AYESSA: Why do you say that you don’t have relatives?

BEN: They abandoned me.
AYESSA: Maybe they abandoned you because you are a criminal?
ANGELICA: Objection your honor, the question is not under the rule and it is beyond
under reasonable doubt.
AYESSA: That’s all for now your honor.

JUDGE MAVERICK:By the power given to me by this court I declare BEN VISTA guilty.
ORDER IN THE COURT.

NARRATOR: Base on the REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9851, the new Phil. Act on crimes
against international humanitarian law, genocide and other crimes against humanity
signed into law on 11 December 2009. BEN VISTA accused guilty and will be prison a
lifetime sentence.
