In-service training is a preparation to all the teachers from the field which will enable them to
improve and learn new things that will help them become a better and a more effective
educator to all learners. This mid-year in service training focuses on the implementation of the
GAD Based IC Cebu which stands for Gender and Development Based Integrated Curriculum,
Cebuano Learners to Engage for Better Understanding, a program of DepEd Cebu Province
which targets the betterment of the teaching learning process in order to develop the learner’s
intellectual growth through engaging, exploring, explaining, elaborating and evaluating with
the use of the different disciplines such as interdisciplinary, multi- disciplinary and
transdisciplinary.
The training started with an opening program hosted by one of the teachers from
Carnaza National High School. The program started with a prayer followed by the National
Anthem, Sugbo Hymn by the multimedia. The participants was welcomed by Mrs. Ana Gellah
Conejos, the school head of Tapilon Central School. Mr. Ruel C. Arranchado, head teacher of
Tominjao National High School, introduced the participants from the different schools
Daanbantayan District II. The rationale was giving by Mr. Rafael Beloria, school head of Carnaza
National High School while the house rules was given by Mr. Elson Ybanez, school head of
Lanao Integrated School. The opening program was ended with the inspirational message of Dr.
Eva A. Casinillo, Public Schools District Supervisor of Daanbantayan II.
After the opening program was the session 1 which is all about the DepEd Vision,
Mission, Core Values: As Anchor for Local Initiative, Curriculum Intervention discussed by Dr.
Eva A. Casinillo. Then, Session 2 was facilitated by Mr. Rafael Beloria which was all about the
Overview of L and D System in the Four Corners of Learning Skills.Next was the break out
session which discussed the topic all about the GAD Based Ic Cebu by Mrs Aida Arranchado.
On the second day, October 22,2019, there were four (4) sessions. The following topics
discussed were GAD Based IC-Cebu: As Contextualized Intervention by Mrs. Aida Arranchado
(Session 4), Approaches to Integration by Mrs. Lucita Montejo (Session 5), 5 E’s: Pedagogical
Learning Process: Teaching Learning Process by Mrs. Laxmie Arcenal (Session 6), GAD Core
Values and Principles by Mrs. Levihanie Cordero ( Session 7A), and Disaster Risk Reduction
Education by Mrs. Nanit Castro (Session 7B).
On the 4th day of the training, October 24, 2019, we were able to make the lesson
exemplar focusing on the different disciplines such as Multidisciplinary. Transdisciplinary and
Interdisiciplinary with the use of the 5 E’s, Engaging, Exploring, Explaining, Elaborating and
Evaluating. We checked and evaluated our lesson exemplar. Then, we made different
instructional materials for our learning area which is the Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao.
On the last day, three teachers were assigned to have a classroom demonstration with
the use of the different disciplines. Lastly, a closing program was started on the afternoon hosted
by one of the teachers from Maya National High School.
