What is the function of condenser?

 Condensers are employed in power plants to condense exhaust steam from turbines and
in refrigeration plants to condense refrigerant vapours, such as ammonia and fluorinated
hydrocarbons.

What is a refrigerator condenser?

 Refrigerator coils, sometimes called condenser coils, are black coils that are found on the back
or bottom of your fridge. If there is lots of dirt or dust on the coils, the refrigerator requires more
energy to cool your food and can eventually break down. .

What is the function of capillary in refrigeration?

 A capillary tube is designed to change the high pressure liquid refrigerant into a low pressure
spray of refrigerant. The amount of pressure drop is dependent on the length and inside
diameter of the capillary tube. The condenser coil receives the high-pressure high-temperature
refrigerant vapor from the compressor and immediately begins to remove heat from the
refrigerant vapor. As the refrigerant vapor makes its way through the condenser coil more and
more heat is removed and the refrigerant vapor changes state from a refrigerant vapor to a
refrigerant liquid.

How a condenser does works in a basic refrigerant cycle?

 It condenses the refrigerant vapor to liquid refrigerant. It is a heat exchanger and rejects heat
to the environment (the room is case of domestic refrigerators). The refrigerant undergoes a
phase change process and hence both pressure and temperature remain constant before and
after condensation. So, a condenser converts a high pressure high temperature refrigerant
vapor to a high pressure high temperature liquid refrigerant. A condenser is generally coil
shaped to increase the surface area to facilitate heat transfer.

Why does a condenser of a refrigerator kept inside a room?

 As the heat rejection capacity is low in refrigerator condenser it doesn't heat up the room too
much ,so the condenser is kept inside the room where there is sufficient airflow as it gets cooled
by convection. And the main aim of refrigerator is to cool the things kept inside it and not the
room .

What is a condenser? Where is it used?

A condenser is a device or unit used to condense a gaseous substance into a liquid state
through cooling. In so doing, the latent heat is released by the substance and transferred to the
surrounding environment. Condensers are used in air conditioning, industrial chemical
processes such as distillation, steam power plants and other heat-exchange systems. Use of
cooling water or surrounding air as the coolant is common in many condensers.

What is the function of refrigeration?

The job of the refrigeration cycle is to remove unwanted heat from one place and discharge it
into another. To accomplish this, the refrigerant is pumped through a closed refrigeration system.
If the system was not closed, it would be using up the refrigerant by dissipating it into the
surrounding media; because it is closed, the same refrigerant is used over and over again, as it
passes through the cycle removing some heat and discharging it.

Why is expansion valve and condenser used in refrigerator?

 Expansion valves are devices used to control the refrigerant flow in a refrigeration system. They
help to facilitate the change of higher pressure of liquid refrigerant in the condensing unit to
lower pressure gas refrigerant in the evaporator. The condenser removes heat given off during
the liquefication of vaporized refrigerant. Heat is given off as the temperature drops to
condensation temperature. Then, more heat (specifically the latent heat of condensation) is
released as the refrigerant liquefies. There are air-cooled and water-cooled condensers, named
for their condensing medium.

What will happen if refrigerators dont have compressor?

 The compressor is the part of the fridge that compresses and pushes refrigerant vapor into the
coils outside of the fridge. The pushing and pressure creates heat, forming hot gas that later
cools and absorbs heat from the freezer and fridge. If your freezer fan is still running, but your
fridge is not getting cold, your compressor or the compressor start relay could be bad.

Why is there a booster line (condenser) in a refrigerator?

 The condenser is one of four main components in any vapor compression refrigeration system.
It converts the high-pressure, high-temperature refrigerant vapor from the compressor discharge
line into high-pressure refrigerant liquid, so that the refrigerant liquid can go through the
metering device and evaporate inside the evaporator for generating refrigeration effect.

What is the function of a refrigerator?

 The fundamental reason for having a refrigerator is to keep food cold. Cold temperatures help
food stay fresh longer. The basic idea behind refrigeration is to slow down the activity of bacteria
(which all food contains) so that it takes longer for the bacteria to spoil the food.

What is the function of condensation in a refrigerator?

 "Condensation occurs when cold air comes in contact with warm air" is totally incorrect.
Excessive condensate as well as poor refrigeration will occur from a poor refrigerator door seal
but will always result from / occur when the door is opened and air enters the refrigerator.
Refrigeration tends to draw out - i.e. dry out - moisture from goods in a refrigerator - this is
generally undesirable and may be prevented by keeping goods in sealed containers or
wrapping.

What will be the effect on a refrigerator when one removes the condenser from it?

 The refrigerator condenser fan plays an essential role in the refrigeration cycle, but not all
refrigerators have one. Refrigerators that have their condenser coil mounted on the back of the
cabinet do not have one. Refrigerators that have their condenser coils mounted in the
compressor compartment use fans to force air through the coil to help transfer the heat of
compression to the environment.
