Hi Dear brothers and sisters!

“Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God every time I remember you.
In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy and gratefulness because of your partnership with us in
spreading the gospel in Brazil.”

Ever since I came back home, last October, I have faced a lot of challenges in helping people. My phone does not
stop ringing. Every day has someone looking for me...people wanting to study the bible…people with problems in
their marriages…people with spiritual/emotional problems…people like a teenager who showed up last Sunday
morning at the church door as we were worshiping the Lord and asked me to pray for him because he could not
sleep. He told me he was having horrible nightmares. He was told by Satan in his nightmares he would die. Satan
will kill him and things like that. In addition, he told he was having strong pains in his body after these nightmares.
Then, I prayed for this young person and as I was praying, his whole body shivered all prayer long…. Afterwards, I
scheduled a bible study with him in his house and I am doing it. Pray for him, his name is Edvair. Another interesting
situation is about a prostitution house’s owner who is studying the bible. This woman is at about 50 years old and
decided to study the bible because wanted to know the Scriptures. The lord has changed her life, she quit from
drinking alcohol and I was told she do not have sexual relationship with other men anymore, just with her “husband”
(they are unmarried), but there are a lot of things to be changed in her life by the Lord. Her greatest challenge is
going to be quit her brothel because she has no another way to make money like she has earned there through tout
the years. Another challenge is her “husband”, he does not want to study the bible because he understands he will
have to make hard decisions. Please, put her and her husband in your prayers, her name is Iracema. Also, there are
two couples I have visited every week to help them. One of them is a former young minister – they have a
problematic marriage and a one son struggling with homosexualism, the other one is a minister whose wife has
committed adultery. Selma, my wife, has prayed with her and encouraged her to repent and fight for her marriage.
So far, both couples are still married and a little change has taken place in these families. I could keep on speaking
about other people I have visited, counseled, prayed together and helped them knowing Jesus Christ, Our Lord and
Savior. I think it is enough to understand what I kind of work the Lord has done though our ministry here.

As for my secular job, wow, in Brazil, the school year ends up on December. I have worked from Monday through
Saturday. Lots of work to do! I have been busy and exhausted!
Some pictures and a brief report….
Youth group at Jardim Europa Church (Saturday afeternoon)

1. Last month, I kicked off the project for students called “life hurts God heals ” in our church to help the teens
with their spiritual, emotional and sexual struggles. There one brother and one sister working together with
me in this program so that they can be done to lead this kind of youth group later. This group has been such
a great blessing. The first meet we had 14 students, in the second one 28 students. One student`s father
attended to a meet to see what kind of gathering it was. He got so impressed with the project (he told me it)
that he asked me if he, someway, could help us. He has attended every Saturday in our group. He is not a
Christian yet. Last Saturday he took two visitors to our youth. Half of this group is not Christians. There
already are some students speaking of being baptized, God be praised!
Houses of Prayer (our small groups)

“They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer…All the
believers were together and … Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes
and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.” (Acts 2.42-47)

As most of you know, we have strongly worked with small groups. Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
our brothers and sisters gather together to worship, pray, study a small practical bible lesson and have a
great fellowship at someone`s house.

Spiritual Leadership training classes for women and men

“It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to
prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the
knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we will no
longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning
and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is
the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds
itself up in love, as each part does its work.”(Ephesius 4.12-16)

Last month, on November, I started the next level in our weekly leadership training program at Pacaembu
church building. I have a classroom for women and another one for men. This program empowers,
envisions, challenges, inspires the brothers and sisters (from Pacaembu and Jd Europa church) to serve the
church and growing in their relationship with Jesus. Also, it focuses on helping them practice and develop
their talents and gifts, especially in those areas (ministries) that our church and our community most need.
We have about 12 women and 14 men who have participated regularly in this program.
Brothers and sisters I have decided to quit my job in May 2011 to become a full time worker. It is so clear for me and
for the people who knows me well that I have a called to help people and I cannot continue “wasting” my time
teaching chemistry, others can do it! The passion into my heart compels me every day to make this decision. So I did
it!

Although I have not gotten the financial support I need to cover my budget, I talked to my wife about that and she
supported me in this decision because she really understands that is almost impossible to keep doing everything
with quality and at the same time taking care of our family, church work and secular job. My faith tells me not be
waiting the perfect conditions to do the right things. The only thing that may wife questioned me was about the
health insurance, for her we can sacrifice many things but as we have kids and the Brazilian public health care is not
so trustable, she would like we could afford to pay for it. Please, pray strongly for this decision I have made. I really
believe the Lord will not forsake us. He will provide what He thinks that is necessary for our family. I do not know
how He will do it, but I and my family are sure of that.

For the time being I think is all I have to say. Feel free to ask me about anything you think is important or even for
you to pray about.

Please, do not forget to pray for my wife and kids, this is my main ministry the Lord has given me. Selma and I need
wisdom, gentleness and patience to not exasperate our children; instead, bring them up in the training and
instruction of the Lord.

Thank you so much for everything you guys have done on behalf of the God`s kingdom in Uberlandia/Brazil

Love you guys in Christ!
