    This document evaluates three options to reduce Royal Mail's carbon emissions: 1. Implementing light saving campaigns in offices and depots through reduced lighting with auto-shutoff. This is a relatively easy and cheap option but could increase safety risks from poorly lit areas. 2. Delivering non-essential post every 3 days instead of daily to reduce the number of delivery vehicles used. This would save on fuel and employment costs but be inconvenient for customers. 3. Using liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in all delivery vehicles instead of other fuels. LPG would reduce fuel costs and emissions but some delivery areas may lack LPG fueling stations, increasing travel distances for vehicles.
