After School Care 2011: Last opportunity to secure your child’s place for 2011 at Pridelands Afterschool Care.
Please complete the tear off slip from last week and return to school.
Carols: A reminder to parents that the children are presenting a Christmas Carol afternoon on Monday 13
December at 1 p.m. Parents and caregivers are welcome to attend.
Thank you: Many thanks to Amon’s family for donating a large bundle of papyrus paper for our art resources.
Record of Learning Afternoon for parents: A reminder to parents that the children are inviting you to view their
Record of Learning Books at 2.30pm on Friday 10 December. This is an opportunity for parents to celebrate and
share their child’s learning over the year.
End of Year Tidy Up: We need a willing team of helpers to help with some end of year tidy up jobs. If you are
available for a couple of hours over the last two weeks of term please contact Jenny.
Community Survey Results: Last term parents responded to our on-line annual Community Survey. The results
from this survey are attached to Events. Thank you to all those parents who responded.
Library Visits: This is Kauri and Kahikatea’s last visit for the year. Please ensure that your child returns all their
library books.
Farewell: On Friday we farewelled Teacher Trainee, Chloe Leung. This has been her first teaching experience in a
New Zealand school and we wish her all the best for her future career.
Spellodrome: We are delighted to confirm that we will be introducing Spellodrome into CTMS next year to
support the Literacy homework and classroom programme. This is a web-based spelling and word study programme
similar to Mathletics. We will be discontinuing the Word Study books as a result. Spellodrome subscription will be
$15 per annum, Mathletics subscription remains the same at $30. This cost will be added to your child’s stationery
list for 2011 and can be paid to the school office at the start of the school year.
Term 4 Finishes: The School Year for CTMS, and some other Wellington Schools, finishes at 12.00 midday on
Monday 20th December. This meets the Ministry of Education requirement for all primary schools in New Zealand
to be open for instruction for 388 half-days throughout the 2010 school year. A reminder to parents that CTMS
started a day later than most schools in February.
