Originally, the living room was confined to the front of the

apartment, disconnecting it from the dining & kitchen.
The floor plan was modified to accommodate the brief for
an open-plan living-dining space & four spacious bedrooms. LIVING

The master suite must be luxurious, comfortable &
elegant. The restrained warm pastel colors create
a sense of unhurried leisure and flood the room

The monochrome-toned upholstered bed wall brings a contrasting yet minimalistic

geometric element to the otherwise classic interior. The wardrobe doors take up an
entire elevation and are finished with high gloss veneer & elongated brass handles.

relaxation to break the monotony of daily routine is
getting inevitable in present times.
Thus, a new era in the hospitality industry of India has
been embarked with the emergence of distinctive hotels
that offer an amalgamation of modern day comforts with
an Indian soul. This entails understanding the heritage &
generating a contemporary reinterpretation.
Rajasthan with its unique cultural inheritance is a
popular tourist destination. Travellers seek a luxury stay
that offers an experience reflecting its regional spirit.
MAIN HOTEL The project is located in the heart of Jaipur city and

The lobby interior was refurbished to imbibe a strong royal imagery. The interior is adorned by Rajasthani elements - arches, jalis, columns,
handpainted surfaces, mirror work, inlay, crystal lighting, victorian furniture, blockprinted textiles & miniature paintings.
SANDSTONE WALLS
The lobby walls are clad in chamfered sandstone,
boldly sectioned by jali strips at multiple heights.
The monochromatic palette of the local sandstone
in its varying hues & textures visually connects
the hotel with the city’s local architecture.
ARCHED JALI PANELS
Jali is a traditional lattice screen elementary for
Rajasthani architecture. The lobby is animated by
a dramatic play of intricately carved stone jalis.
THIKRI MIRROR
The stone jali panels are juxtaposed against thikri
mirror work that render the project with ethnic
fervour. The lobby, drawing inspiration from the
Sheesh Mahal in Amer Fort Jaipur, is illuminated
by the reflections from thousands of mirror pieces
gleaming on the walls.
METALLIC COLORS
The interiors are embellished with metallic gold,
reflecting the color of sand dunes, through inlaid
lotus motifs, beadings, chandeliers & lamps.
RAJASTHANI ELEMENTS
Quintessential Rajasthani decor accents are added
through blockprint cushions & miniature paintings.
The ceiling above the seating is handpainted with
natural vegetable & mineral dyes by local artisans.

The hotel is located in the holy city
of Pushkar, a tourist place famous for
fairs & festivities, at Panchkund Road
- few kilometers from Brahma temple,
Pushkar lake & the local marketplace.
The site is nestled amidst the pristine
Aravalli mountain range in Rajasthan,
providing uninterrupted scenic views
on the south-east side.
The proposal commissioned design in
two phases - Phase one encompassing
redesign of the main hotel including
banquet & outdoor event areas. And
Phase two encompassing new design
for the wellness zone & villas.
The redesign comprised architectural
intervention with rearrangement of
spatial layout in order to organise the
sequential relationships between spaces
& optimise circulation.
The final design is comprised of three
built volumes - the Main Hotel block,
the Wellness block & the Villas.
Together the three structures form a
U-shape, framing the landscaped lawn
& centrally placed pool area.

Youth currently spend a lot of their time in futile entertainment. The center aims to allow youth to engage in worthwile
activities and pursuits, to realize their potential, to express themselves and to reach out to the community.
Moreover, the current situation is changing with rise in the number of working mothers. These changes bring about
difficulties in performing expected functios of parental care and guidance. On the other hand, the education system of
the country emphasizes technical and academic achievement. In this view of education, there are few oppurtunities for

foyer and provides access to the center.
It is screened by a wall plane in order
to provide oppurtunities to enjoy
refreshment.
The court connects the public and
semi-public areas of the center.
It provides friendly outdoor space,
enhancing transition between indoor
and outdoor spaces.
The sunken court buffers private areas
from view and creates the desired
landscape to strengthen the concept
of private-public space, while also
providing joyful and necessary leisure.

privacy by different levels of entrance.
The level difference also enables gradual
transition from public to semi-public and
finally to private spaces of the center.

The design seeks to provide

discussions outside of the classroom.
The center, thus, has interconnected
buildings arranged around habitable
courtyards, gardens and spectator areas.
The center is a synthesis of architecture and landscape, which defines
diverse spaces for people to gather in through out the day and evening.
