[RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION AND SUPPORT OF KIM J. CHANEY, DISTRICT JUDGE, CULLMAN COUNTY, ALABAMA ‘whereas, Judge Kim Chaney has served this community allot hslife with Honor and dignity and ‘whereas, fo the last 27 years he has served his fellow cizensas Presiding District Judge forthe 32" Judicial Court and; ‘whereas, uring his service he has exemplified the true meaning of dedication, honor, Impartiality, knowledge, ethics, and compassion to those wha have come before him and ‘whereas, he has lays maintained the highest ethical and moral standards ofthe office and has been an example toll, what a Judge should represent and; \whereas, through his 27 years of service he has always put the publi fst and; ‘whereas, Chaney's career includes a number of achievements, including: ‘= 1993- Sworn for fist term in ofc, ‘The longest serving District Judge in Cuilman County, ‘© 1n2018 became the longest serving District Court Judge in Alabama, ‘+ Headed Cullman County's Juvenile and Drug Court programs, ‘© Helped start the Cullman County Community Corrections program, ‘+ Helped found the Boot Camp Wilderness program for delinquent youth, | Founding member ofthe Cullman County Human Trafficking Task Force, '© Served as president ofthe Alabama Juvenile ues’ Assocation, 1+ Served a president ofthe Alabama District dgee’ Association, ‘+ Served as president ofthe Alabama Assolation of Orug Court Professionals, "+ Recipient of the Howell Heflin Award for exemplary service to the Court Parole, + People Against uttered State (PALS) Governor's Award, + 2001 Cullman Times Distinguished Citizen of the Year, ‘+2011 Cullman High School Distinguished citizen, +2013 Lions cub Chester Freeman Service to Others Award, 2016 Cullman County Chamber of Commerce Emma Marl Edelman Award, + 2013 accepted Alabama Children’s Policy Council Award of Excellence on behalf of County Children’s Poiey Counc in hs capacty as Juvenile Court Judge, ‘Whereas, his dedication to the aw wil be sorely missed, but his example wil be followed for years to come. itis truly with great sadness we acknowledge his retirement, but willbe forever grateful to the ‘devotion to the law, cizens, and the Cullman County Bar, Judge Kim Chaney has given during his time of service as deputy sheriff, an Assistant District Attorney, and a a District ludge Passed unanimously by the Cullman County Bar Assocation this the 24% day of February, 2020. ‘The Cullman County Bar Associaton
