Recipe Book

Tips: It's always best to add water onto the ingredient, as most ingredients flo
at on water, making mixing difficult. If a potion needs to be heated, it is advi
sed to heat the mortar from below with a burner, and not a Heatplate, unless the
recipe says otherwise. It is advised to wait a short while before feeding anoth
er potion to your subject
[edit]Digitalis
Type: Poison
Effect: Cardiac arrest upon ingestion. Fatal.
Preparation: Simply add water and Foxglove together.
[edit]Firebrew
Type: Potion
Effect: Causes spontaneous combustion upon ingestion. Not fatal.
Preparation: Mix Firesalts and water together.
Facts: It is advised to mix this potion in a heat-proof container, as the final
product gives off heat.Firebrew is an inefficient cure for the effects of Frostb
rew, is raises the subject's temperature to normal but doesn't remove the ice. H
owever, the ice can be melted off (see below). Attempts to consume raw Firesalts
result in the salts bursting into flame, which can cause damage to equipment an
d the subject.

Type: Potion
Effect: Causes massive drop in temperature and causes a film of ice to spread ac
ross the surface of the subject. Not fatal.
Preparation: Mix Frostsalts and water together.
Facts: Attempts to consume raw Frostsalts result in the mouth of the subject bei
ng coated in ice. This ice can sometimes spread across the body, but can be melt
ed off with Heatplate, fire, or turning up the temperature in the room. Caution
is advised when using fire to remove the ice. Frostbrew is an extremely ineffici
ent cure for the effects of Firebrew. Do not expect any real results.
[edit]Mugwort Tea
Type: Potion
Effect: Cures various strange conditions upon consumption. Preparation: Pour wat
er over some mugwort leaves, then heat to 50º, once the entire mixture is pale gre
en, the tea is ready.
Facts: Cures the effects of Firebrew and Frostbrew. Tastes terrible, however.
[edit]Invisibility Potion
Type: Potion
Effect: Renders the drinker completely invisible.
Preparation: Fill the bottom of a container with water. Cover the top of the con
tainer with a filter and place Aloe Vera onto the filter. Once it is all filtere
d, remove the filter and add redwort to the solution. Once the mixture turns pur
ple, the potion is ready.
Facts: It is strongly recommended that you leave the container used for this pot
ion in place, as you will need it to locate the subject to administer the antido
te.

Type: Antidote
Effect: Returns the drinker to visibility after drinking an invisibility potion.

Preparation: Filter some Aloe Vera into a container and add Mugwort. The solutio
n shuold turn a pale blue.
Facts: This antidote can be administered anywhere, in case you loose track of wh
ere the subject's mouth is.
[edit]Vomiting Potion
Type: Poison
Effect: Causes constant vomiting shortly after consumption.
Preparation: Add some sugar to water, and then sprinkle some Ipecacuanha into th
e mix. Once the mixture turns dark brown, it is ready.
Facts: The vomitting, while it does not pose and threat to your subject, will no
t stop until cured by alchemical methods. It also makes a terrible mess...

Type: Potion
Effect: Cures nausea and vomitting.
Preparation: Simply add peppermint to water.
Facts: Would be very useful if your subject were to... 'accidentally' ingest som
e Vomitting Potion..
[edit]Exploding Potion
Type: Poison
Effect: Depending on spices used in the creation of this poison, it causes minor
to huge explosions within the subject.
Facts: When mixing a Magnitude 5 or 6 Exploding Potion, it is advised that you d
o so in a Container, as a simple mortar cannot withstand the heat and corrosiven
ess given off by these potions. Once you've mixed the required spices you can po
ur the mix from a Container onto a Heatplate. Giving raw Blair's Reserve to a su
bject will result in loss of mouth and surrounding tissue. There have been talk
amongst alchemists that one unlucky alchemist mixed Firebrew with a Magnetude 6
Exploding Potion and gave it to his subject. He and the surrounding city were ne
ver seen again.

Preparation:

Mix Sunflower Oil and Ginger.

Mix Sunflower Oil, Ginger and Cayenne. Heat to 45º. Once the entire brew has turne
d brown, the potion is ready.

Mix Sunflower Oil, Ginger, Cayenne and Paprika. Heat to 47º. Once the entire brew
has turned pale brown, the potion is ready.

e entire brew has turned red, the potion is ready.

Once the entire brew has turned bright red, the potion is ready.

Type: Poison
Effect: A very gory death. More information in facts section.
Facts: Drinking this potion is a VERY bad idea. It is absorbed into your bloodst
ream the moment you drink it. You now have anything from 1 to 30 seconds to live
. When it goes off, you'll feel a wave of pain travel through your body, but it
gets worse when it reaches your skin. You skin will immediatley flake off and gi
ve way to torrents of blood, and eventually your entire body does the same. Extr
emely painful and not a nice way to go.
Preparation: Mix up some Digitalis, then add sunflower oil. The mixture should t
urn grey. When it does, add sugar, which should turn it a paleish red. Then you
need to put it through a filter, which will turn it a brighter red. Finally, add
jsut a tiny pinch of firesalts to finish it. This should cause the potion to st
art rapidly changing colours. When it does this, it is ready for ingestion.
[edit]Petrifying Potion
Type: Poison
Effect: Petrifys the subject, rendering it useless until healed.
Facts: This potion turns into a gas when the final ingredient is added, so be su
re to have the container under the subject's mouth.
Preparation: Mix Foxglove and Sunflower Oil, then add blood, and finally, Frosts
alts.

Type: Potion
Effect: Heals a petrified subject.
Facts: This potion also turns into a gass when the final ingredient is added, so
make sure the container is below the subject's mouth.
Preparation: Mix filtered Aloe Vera with sugar, and then add Firesalts.
[edit]Parasite Egg Tea
Type: Poison
Effect: Infects the drinker with a parasite.
Facts: Being a host for a parisite wouldn't be fun.
Preparation: Put in water, ipecacuanha, then lastly add maggots.

Type: Antidote
Effect: Cures the subject from the parasite.
Facts: A cure, but a painful one at that.
Preparation: Put in water, stir in ipecacuanha, and add mugwort.
[edit]Expanding Potion
Type: Potion
Effect: Causes the subject to expand eradically.
Facts: You'll never get a truly level expansion, instead your subject will grow
tentacle-like growths.
Preparation: Mix Foxglove with filtered Aloe Vera, then add Water.
[edit]Encasing Potion
Type: Poison
Effect: Encases the subject in a strong material, suffocating them.
Facts: A nasty way to go.
Preparation: Use SoulKnife to extract some soul into an upturned bowl, then make
the bowl a whole circle and drop some sugar into the soul, then add blood.
[edit]Reorganising Potion
Type: Potion
Effect: Scrambles the subject's organs.
Facts: Tastes so horrific, that it actually manages to scramble the subjects org
ans.
Preparation: Put a dot of body above a bowl of container. Put a Heart above it.
Once it rots away, put Brain above it, then Stomach. Add maggots, and finally un
filtered Aloe_Vera.
[edit]Fire Breathing Potion
Type: Potion
Effect: Makes the subject breath fire.
Facts: Lasts for a short period of time.
Preparation: Mix Paprika and Firesalts.
[edit]Black Hole Potion
Type: Potion
Effect: Makes a black hole inside the subject, sucking him in.
Facts: Fatal.
Preparation: Mix Ipecacuanha with Nightshade.

Type: Potion
Effect: Totally messes with the subject's brain, heart, stomach and mouth.
Facts: Be quick adminstering the antidote, it quickly becomes impossible to get
potions to the subject's mouth.

Type: Antidote
Effect: Stops scrambling of the subject.
Facts: This will prevent further scrambling of the subject, but will not repair
damage done by scrambling. Also, it causes temporary invisibility.
Preparation: Add Scrambling Potion to the Reorganising Potion

Type: Poison
Effect: Liquifies the subject.
Facts: This will totally liquify the subject, effectivley killing him.
Preparation: Add firesalts to some Blair's 16 mil reserve

Scientic Name: NaClCO2(Salt, Chlorine, Carbon Dioxide in solid form.)
Use: Appeared before the Collapse of Man (7000 BC) where Man was destoyed by dem
ons who invaded Earth. These were used in Frost potions. Rare.

Type: Stem
Scientific Name: Artemisia Vulgaris
Use: The leaves and buds, best picked shortly before the plant flowers in July t
o September, were used as a bitter flavouring agent to season fat meat and fish.
In Germany, it is mainly used to season goose, especially the roast goose tradi
tionally eaten for Christmas. Poisonous in large amounts. Cures Frost and Fire f
or no apparent reason.

Scientific Name: Aloe Vulgaris
Use: Pain releiver. Works great. Once again, when combined with RedWort and Wate
r, it reacts in such a way as to make you invisible for no reason. When treated
the same, except with MugWort instead of RedWort cures it.

Type: Stem
Scientific Name: Not recognized as an independant species.
Use: Genetic Mutation of MugWort. If a potion has RedWort in it, substitute with
MugWort for an antidote.

Type: Root
Scientific Name: Psychotria ipecacuanha
Use: Ipecacuanha is useful as an emetic when it is necessary to unload the stoma
ch in cases where there is great debility or in childhood. As a nauseant, expect
orant, and diaphoretic, it is prescribed in bronchitis, etc.

Scientific Name: Mentha peperita
Use: Peppermint is generally regarded as 'the world's oldest medicine', with arc
heological evidence placing its use at least as far back as ten thousand years a
go. Peppermint, like many spices and herbs, is believed to have medicinal proper
ties when consumed. It is said that it helps against upset stomachs.

Use: Cayenne is used in cooking spicy hot dishes, as a powder or in its whole fo
rm (such as in Szechuan cuisine). It is generally rated at 40,000 to 90,000 Scov

Scientific Name: Capsicum annuum (Different kind of pepper from the same plant a
s Cayenne)
Use: Part of a Bell Pepper, the Pimento, dried and crushed, which has 0 Scoville
Units, therefore no detectable heat.

Scientific Name: Garam Masala
Use: A traditional of cinnamon, roasted cumin, cloves, nutmeg (and/or mace) and
green cardamom seed or black cardamom pods. Many commercial mixtures may include
more of other less expensive spices and may contain dried red chili peppers, dr
ied garlic, ginger powder, sesame, mustard seeds, turmeric, coriander, bay leave
s, cumin, and fennel. Not hot like peppers, but pungent.

Use: Called Chinese Horseradish. Has a strong flavor and is VERY hot, but more l
ike hot mustard that pepper. Puts hair on your chest. DO NOT eat it as a bet, I
did this and had a whole jar of concentrated stuff, almost had a seizure. NO JOK
E. Good on sushi. :)

350'000. The hottest pepper in the world, called Guatemalan Insane Peppers beca
use THAT is how hot it is at 2'000'000 tops. Blair is a company that is famous f
or it's 750'000 and 2'000'000 sauce. Blair's 16 million reserve is yes, 16'000'0
00 scoville. It is a very weak neurotoxin. It is ILLEGAL in all of Europe, excep
t UK. It's 8 times stronger than Pepper Spray the MILITARY uses. 999 were ever m
ade, 1 drop in 1 gallon of water can make grown men cry. Ubersite, alot of profa
nity but 100% true. I know the guy. SCARY STUFF.

Scientific Name: Atropa belladonna
Use: Nightshade can be used in cosmetics, mecicines, can be used in folklore, an
d recreational purposes. It is consumed in the form of either a tea or simply ra
w, which can produce vivid hallucinations, described by many as a 'living dream'
. Upon consumption of this plant, the user will experience all the severe, adver
se anticholinergic effects before hallucinating and continue to do so while hall
ucinating. Use for recreational purposes is considered dangerous because of the
risk of accidental overdose.

Type: Larval stage of an insect.
Scientific Name: Larval Stage Pangoniinae Tabanidae
Use: Maggots can be used in therapy (Disenfected, then put on wounds, as they fe
ed on decomposing flesh), and forensics (Some types of maggots found on corpses
can be of great use to forensic scientists. By their stage of development, these
maggots can be used to give an indication of the time elapsed since death, as w
ell as the place the organism died) The size of the house fly maggot is 9.5-19.1
mm (3/8 to 3/4 inch). At the height of the summer season, a generation of flies
(egg to adult) may be produced in 12-14 days. The maggots your servants collect
are that of a particularly nasty type of horsefly.
