HYDRAULIC QUALITY

This notice should be fded in front of MIL-T-7081D, Amendment 6, dated 5 June 1973.

MI&T-7081D is inactive for new design and is no longer used by the Air Force except for
replacement purposes.

For future acquisitions, use Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) specifications:

AMS 4081G, Aluminum Alloy ‘lhbing, Hydraulic, Seamless, Drawu, Rouud l.OMg – 0.60Si – 0.28CU
– 0.20Cr (6061 – T4) Solution Heat Treated and Naturally Aged
AMS 4083J, Aluminum Alloy ‘lhbing, Hydraulic, Seamless, Drawn, Round l.OMg – 0.60Si – 0.28CU –
0.20Cr (6061 – T6) Solution and Precipitation Heat Treated
