FOREWORD

This Research Manual was developed by the faculty of the

Research and Development Office of the Sarmiento Campus and
approved by the Campus Administrator. The policies and guidelines
presented here are designed to assist the faculty members and
students in the various phases of planning, implementing and
presenting their thesis and other research projects.

The manual includes specific pointers to researchers in the

development of research problem, building theoretical framework,
designing the data collection procedures and reporting the findings of
a study. Also included are the important points/concepts that should
be included in various parts of the thesis and research.

It is hoped that through this manual, faculty members and

students will be guided in their research undertaking even as they
learn further through their research experiences.

SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This last chapter contains the overview of the research. It gives a

brief statement of the problem, the procedures and findings. For the
conclusions, the hypotheses set in the study are answered. In making
recommendations, the researcher should avoid making opinionated
statement and suggestions not supported by evidence. It should be based on
