Matt Gephardt was born into journalism, his father was a reporter and had to go do a story when
Matt was born. His father put him on the news at three when he was a part of a drug study.
Matt came to the university of Utah to study. He scored a summer job as a teleprompter and his
career started from there. He did every job in the news room that there is so he had lots of
experience until he became a watchdog reporter and got in front of the camera. After this he
won many awards for his journalism. He also affected some of the laws in Utah and some of
them changed because of him. He is a Utah man so he likes to go on hikes with his wife and
kids when he is not reporting or journaling. He was on KUTV but he recently resigned and
became a free agent. He said he was happy and content with what he did and he wanted to
leave the station on that note. As of February 5th Matt joined KSL news despite saying he was
going to leave and not join another station. He also grew up going to work with his dad and
being around newsrooms and the journalism life. His father left to start his own channel and
Matt stepped up and took his job at KUTV. He was a dedicated journalist and worked hard, he
worked more than was necessary because he liked to get the best story. Many people tak
pictures with him in public when they see him and he never realized what an impact he actually
had on people
