Leadership Experiences

 Co-Advisor of Student Council- Work to build leadership opportunities and


skills for students at the school.
 Teacher Representative Parent-Teacher-Organization- Connects the parent
community to the school through events and scholarships.
 WCEA Visiting Team Member- Analyzed the goal progress and work at a
Diocesan School in the Bay Area. Submitted findings from group to the
accreditation board.

Leadership Goals

I will research and present information to my colleagues regarding individualized


learning opportunities for students.

 GOAL: Build more research based individualized student-learning opportunities to


meet the individual writing needs of my students and present those strategies to
fellow writing teachers.
 OBJECTIVE: Research individualized lesson structures; utilize strategies, present
findings to fellow writing teachers. (Short Term)
 RATIONALE: Individualized instruction helps build student engagement and
understanding of concepts.
 NBPTS: Proposition 1: Teachers are committed to students and their learning.
 TLMD: Domain 4. Facilitating Improvements in Instruction and Student Learning.
 TEACHER INQUIRY: Identify current research in teaching diverse populations,
build research findings into instructional practices, present impact on student
population to staff with data based findings and rational.

I will lead a team of teachers to build our specialized subject knowledge and improve
our ability to convey that knowledge to students.

 GOAL: Attend specialized workshops that build skills in writing specific instruction
with a team of teachers. Lead the teachers in analyzing the information and create
an effective plan to utilize learned information in the classroom.
 OBJECTIVE: Attend the Teacher’s Writing College at Columbia University in New
York. (Long Term) Lead a team to build planned instruction for the next school year
based on learned information.
 RATIONALE: Increased knowledge of subject helps build opportunities for students
learning as well as improves knowledge of how to support student needs.
 NBPTS: Proposition 2: Teachers know the subjects they teach and how to teach
those subjects to students.
 TLMD: Domain 3. Promotes professional learning for continuous improvement.

Start a data and research team at my school to better incorporate data based
instruction into our instructional practices.

 GOAL: Start a data and research team at my school to identify instructional practices
that will best support student learning.
 OBJECTIVE: Analyze school’s testing data in both math and language arts in
congruence with looking at research regarding best instructional practices and build
classroom instructional practices around findings.
 RATIONALE: Research on teaching to diverse populations can help me tailor my
lessons to my student population.
 NBPTS: Proposition 4: Teachers think systematically about their practices and learn
from their experiences.
 TLMD: Domain 2. Accesses and uses research to improve practice and student
learning.
