Preliminary activities:

The moon casts two shadows

Called the umbra and the
penumbra
UMBRA
 is the dark, central
part of the shadow
PENUMBRA
 The lighter outer part

Partial Solar Eclipse happen
when the moon comes
between the sun and earth,
but the moon only partially
covers the sun’s disk.
Annular eclipse take place
when the moon’s disk is not
big enough to cover the entire
disk of the sun.
Total solar eclipse; When
the moon covers the entire
disk of the sun.
Total Lunar Eclipse
occurs when the moon and
the sun are on exact opposite
sides of Earth
Partial Lunar Eclipse
happens when only a part of
