Management

Concept: Concept of Management

In your own perspective, how would you relate management with leadership?
Management consists of controlling a group or a set of entities to accomplish a goal.
Leadership refers to an individual’s ability to influence, motivate, and enable others to
contribute toward organizational success.

1. When does leadership ends and management begins or vice-versa?

2. Is there an overlapping of functions between the two concepts?

Although leaders and managers perform different tasks, their functions do cross each other,
and most organizations cannot afford to have leaders who cannot manage and managers
who cannot lead.
3. If you are to choose, do you prefer to be a leader or a manager? Why?
I prefer to be a leader because a leader asks for help when he wants something done, a
manager gives order
Concept: Management Theories
