COURSEWORK

Course Learning Outcomes

1. Explain the concepts of teaching and learning; and learning processes in education. (C2,
LO1)
2. Describe the importance of individual differences and its implications in teaching and learning
based on relevant resources. (C4, LO3, LO6, LL1, CTPS3)
3. Analyze the learning theories and its implications in classroom teaching and learning. (C4,
LO3, CTPS3)
4. Presentation plan teaching and learning activities by applying current teaching approaches,
strategies and technique (C6, LO3, LO4, CTPS3, CS3).
5. Suggest teaching and learning activities that could enhance learners’ motivation in learning.
(C6, LO3, CTPS3)

Task objectives

1
1. To analyze and make comparison on any two selected theories of learning

2. To elaborate the theory that has been analyzed and its implications towards
individual differences in instruction process in the classroom.

​3. To present a lesson plan of instruction activities using the current teaching method.

4. To deliver a presentation on instruction planning activities using latest methodologies.

5. To propose teaching and learning activities that can increase students' motivation to
learn.

S​tudents are required to perform the following tasks

Task 1: Academic Writing (25%) 50 marks

Good and effective instruction will not materialize without proper planning. However, proper
planning on instruction needs to be based on something that is concrete and true.

Individually, write a comparative analysis of any two learning theories and their implications on
teaching and learning process

Task 2: SBE Report (10%) 20 marks

You are required to write a ​School Based Experience (SBE) report​. The report should cover
the following aspects

i. How is your experience in completing the assignment (interviewing process,


searching for relevant informations and evidences
ii. Have you ​encountered any problems while completing tasks, and how to handle them

iii. ​Based on SBE's recent experience, suggest a method that you will use to motivate
students in the classroom.

Task 3: Presentation (15%) 30 marks

Futuristic, flexible and dynamic 21st-century learning requires the roles and commitment of
teachers. Pre-graduate teachers who are ever ready to equip themselves with 21st century
pedagogical skills will be the backbone of the Ministry of Education Malaysia to realize the
national education transformation as intended through the development of Malaysian Education
Blueprint 2013-2025

Create a lesson plan for teaching and learning using current approaches, strategies and
methods of teaching based on the titles given and make a presentation in front of audience.
(Refer to attached presentation heading)

Guideline on the implementation of course work

1. ​This coursework has to be done individually .


2. This coursework carries 100% marks and are weighted 50%.
3. Task 3 needs to be presented according to the agreed topics. Each student has to choose
different topics. Topic selection has to be determined among students.
4. Good assignment need to meet or exceed the following criterias.
a. Coverage of the content has to be comprehensive, consistent and detailed.

b. Evidence, material and citation are needed to support your arguments. It has to be
submitted together with the assignment (documents, videos, photographs etc.)
c. Your entire essay should demonstrate authenticity and supported by academic
materials
d. Format and illustration should be clear and coherent.
e. Entire writing should be approximately 1300 words (about 5 pages - 800 words for
academic writing and 500 words for SBE report).
f. Creative and critical thinking skills should be shown on each task.
g. Presentation should demonstrate language proficiency and fluency. 30 minutes will be
allocated for each group to complete the task.
h. Students are advised to hold a discussion with respective lecturer while completing
the task
i. This assignment will be evaluated based on specific assessment criteria
j. Plagiarism is strongly prohibited.
Coursework must be submitted to the respective lecturer as agreed. Late submission will be
penalized.

i. Front page/cover need to adhere to current template.
ii. Font: Arial
iii. Font size: 11
iv. Spacing: 1.5
v. American Psychological Association (APA) reference list must be used.
vi Attachment is mandatory (please include any material as evidence)
vii. English (U.K) will be used throughout the entire coursework.
