The Academy occupies approximately 49 acres Human Factors in Aviation Maintenance

Programs
The programs offered provide students with the nec-
essary skills, competence and qualification to be part
of a very demanding aerospace industry. Upon suc-
cessful completion, AAIAA students will graduate with
a dual award that is both Nationally and Internation-
ally recognized
EASA Category A License and Diploma in Aircraft
Maintenance Technology
This is an 8 month (32 Weeks) course including 13
weeks of theory and 19 weeks of practical training.
Successful graduates will be awarded
AAIAA Certificate of Successful Completion of the
EASA Category A License Course
National Diploma - Aircraft Maintenance Technol-
ogy
With evidence of 1 year appropriate experience in
an Aviation Maintenance Facility graduates will be
able to apply for the issue of EASA Category A Line
Maintenance Certifying Mechanics (LMCM) License in
any of the sub-categories:
A1 - Aircraft Turbine A2 - Aircraft Piston
A3 - Helicopters Turbine A4 - Helicopters Piston
EASA Category B License and Higher National Di-
ploma in Aeronautical Engineering
This is a two years (92 Weeks) course including 46
weeks of theory and 46 weeks of practical training.
Successful graduates will be awarded
AAIAA Certificate of Completion of Aero Mechani-
cal Category B1 or Avionics Category B2 License
Course
Higher National Diploma - Aeronautical Engineer-
ing
With evidence of 2 years appropriate experience in
an Aviation Maintenance Facility graduates will be
able to apply for the issue of EASA Category B
Maintenance Certifying Technicians (MCT) License in
any of the sub-categories
B1.1 - Aircraft Turbine B1.2 - Aircraft Piston
B1.3 - Helicopters Turbine B1.4 - Helicopters Piston
B2 - Avionics
Curriculum
The Academy Curriculum is based on both EASA Part
66/147 Licensing and a UK University approved
ND/HND Programs. The EASA Curriculum covers Part-
66/147 requirements and is designed to meet the train-
ing needs of airlines, MRO’s & government agencies. The
ND/HND Aeronautical Engineering Curriculum is designed
to meet and surpass the requirements of the UAE Ministry
of Higher Education. An Articulation Agreement with a
renowned European University will allow ND Graduates
entry into the 2nd year and HND Graduates entry to the
3rd year of a 3 year Bachelors Program
Entry Requirements
Since AAIAA students will graduate with a dual award it
is necessary to apply the entry requirements of the Higher
National Diploma.
English Language Proficiency: IELTS 5.5 or Higher
Grade 12 equivalent Science / Technical qualification
Other equivalent Air Force or Civil qualifications
and/or experience may be considered through Rec-
ognition of Prior Learning or Accreditation of Current
Competencies
Foundation Course
For students that cannot meet the ND/HND Entry Require-
ments, AAIAA will offer a Foundation Course (Language
and Technical Preparation Program) with a flexible dura-
tion of 16 to 24 Weeks that aim to :
prepare students to meet the prerequisite for English
Language Proficiency
expose students to a variety of engineering trades
provide students an opportunity to find their true vo-
cation
Career Prospects
Most Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Mechanics/
Technicians, work in civil aviation and are employed
by airline operators and independent specialist air-
craft maintenance companies. Aircraft Maintenance
personnel ensure that an aircraft is safe and fully
operational. This involves regular inspection, mainte-
nance and servicing. They specialise in aero mechani-
cal or avionics engineering:
Aero Mechanical Technicians are concerned with
servicing & overhaul of engines, airframes and basic
electrical systems. Airframes include the structure and
sheet metal of an aircraft, hydraulic & pneumatic
systems, flying control surfaces, environmental control
and landing gears.
Avionics Technicians are responsible for maintaining
a variety of electrical electronic equipment, cockpit
instrumentation, automatic flight control, radar, navi-
gation, communication and airborne computer systems.
Pathways
AAIAA Diploma and Higher Diploma Graduates may
apply for full-time or part-time related professional
degree courses at local or overseas universities.
Graduates depending on their results may be eligible
to apply for exemptions of between one to two years
from a three year Bachelors degree program.

defense sectors and has ties with Etihad, Abu Dhabi
Aviation, ADAT, UAE Armed Forces & Police Force.
Higher Education: The Academy is expected to be a
partner institution of the proposed Abu Dhabi based
Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Re-
search in Abu Dhabi (KUSTAR) which will offer
Bachelors, Masters & PhD programs in Aeronautical
Engineering, Avionics Engineering, Air Transport Engi-
neering & Aviation Management.
