Information and Checklist to use when writing job advertisements

Develop a draft of job design with considering to BizOps Hiring needs as per the
Recruitment, Selection and Induction Policy and Procedure
 Strategic and operational plans for the work area and BizOps
 Available funding and budget allocation
 Current staffing structure and skill levels
 The diversity of BizOps staffing profiles
 Academic profiles and specialisations – current and future BizOps requirements
 Any foreseeable changes that might impact on the area/department or the role
 How the needs for the position might best be met

 Create a position description


All BizOps position descriptions must be drafted by the hiring area using the approved
position description template to ensure consistency across the organisation.
Develop the position description by following recommended headings:

 Position Purpose
 Responsibilities
 Selection Criteria
 Other information: working hours if part time, salary, allowances, location, equipment
required, provided
 Explain about BizOps Business overview
Outline information about the company vision, mission, code of ethics, goals, size, product or
service, locations.
 Describe the Main duties in the position
Provide an overview of the role and main duties expecting on the role
 List of qualification, skills and experience needed for the role
Describe individual skills, experience, or industry knowledge and or any required certificates
or any own resources for the position
 Detail of the benefits and culture of your business
Clarify main benefits they get when working to organisation ex financial benefits,
development training received, support work life balance.
 How to apply and what to submit
Explanation on procedures of Applying ex through uploading resume with a cover letter to
Seek.com or contacting HR Manager, and answer answers to screening questions.
 Finalise advertainment
With considering the following items:
 Online advertising using www.seek.com.au is BizOps preferred medium for advertising
all positions
 Advertising in print media will only be offered in exceptional circumstances and must be
supported by a strong business case from the relevant manager
 Recruitment of a fixed-term employee for a period of six months or less does not require
advertisement
