As of 2020, it is the largest cricket stadium in the
world and one of the largest sports venues overall,
with a seating capacity of 110,000 spectators.[7]
Owned by the Gujarat Cricket Association, it is a
regular venue for Test, ODI, and T20I matches.
Project Requirement
The Stadium had a requirement for 10G scalable
switching infrastructure as the backbone of the
network. Layer 3 and Layer 2 POE & Non POE
switches for the network were required to facilitate
connectivity for surveillance cameras & audio
System that would result in easy access and
monitoring.
For this availability of switches with VRRP - Virtual
Router Redundancy Protocol, was required which
would increase the availability and reliability of
routing paths via automatic default gateway
selections on an IP subnetwork.
Challenge
Smooth and efficient functioning of D-Link devices
was expected due to Integration with multiple
OEM products in the switching infrastructure that
connected IP cameras, PA systems, wireless APs
and Biometric.
It was essential to deliver a robust and scalable
switching infrastructure which met all current and
future needs of the world's biggest cricket stadium.
Solution
To adhere to the requirement of scalable network, D-
LINK proposed 10G Optical backbone infrastructure ,
with Tier - II architecture.
Layer 3 switch DGS-3630 -28SC switch at core level
shall provide HA Active - Active mode with RPS
redundancy for 24/7 seamless operations.
Layer 2 POE DGS-1510-28P at the distribution level for
with PoE and L2 Multicast feature to integrate
surveillance products .
