ACHIEVEMENTS
Simulation of a CDMA network (MSc) – Group Project
 Using MATLAB, designed a transmitter and a receiver to accommodate multiple users. Additive white
Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel was used as a medium.
 Perform orthogonality study of spreading codes and spreading factors.
 Study the impact on interference brought by multiple users. Probability of error and relative error graphs
were plotted against relevant signal to ratios (SNR) for this study.

Simulation of high frequency transmission (MSc) – Group Project

 Designed a low noise amplifier operating between 890MHz-910MHz using Infenion RF transistor BFP640
using Advanced Design Suite (ADS) software.
 Achieved a noise figure (NF) less than 1.3 Db, gain of 23.6 dB & Output reflection coefficient, S 22, of < -15
dB.
 Performed impedance matching between the output network & the input network with the aid of Smith
Charts.

Building and testing an Ultrasonic Range-Meter (MSc) – Group Project

 Designed and tested an existing layout for the instrument that incorporated two ultrasonic transceivers in
circuit simulation software.
 Constructed the instrument on a printed circuit board (PCB). Datasheet specifications for each component
were studied for coherency in design.

Other Projects:
 Simulated an audio-visual client recognition system in MATLAB Simulink. Main aim was to appreciate the
signal processing concepts involved in the exercise. – Group Project
 FPGA implementations of a Dual Port (DP) RAM, a transceiver and a digital clock were made. Involved
rigorous programming in hardware description language (HDL) using Xilinx software. – Individual Project
 Simulation study on the nonlinear inductance profile of a switched reluctance motor (SRM). A new
technique for generating a linear inductance profile for the motor was recommended whereby inherent
ripples in the torque response could be reduced. – Individual Project

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
 Elected the Student Representative for the undergraduate batch of 2005.
 Secretary for the cricket committee at the University for the Year 2007.
 Participated in university sports competitions in – tennis, cricket, swimming, snooker and soccer.
 Coordinator of the Principal’s Cup Tournament at school.
 Captain of the cricket team at school
