icare ministry
By Bro. Donald Cabrera

November 21, 2010 - Through the ICARE Ministry, JIL Glendale fulfilled one of its 2010
goals of reaching out to those who are in need by supporting the Samaritan’s Purse
Operation Christmas Child. Twenty shoe boxes were filled with toys, school supplies,
clothing, and toiletries. Each box was carefully wrapped with beautiful Christmas themed
wrappers; some were even personalized. Many JIL Glendale members and leaders jumped
on the opportunity to reach out and bless others when they heard about this operation.
Other JIL outreaches also participated. Samaritan’s Purse is an organization founded by
Franklin Graham.

By Bro. Donald Cabrera leadership update

As an outreach, JIL Glendale formed its Leadership
Management Team in March 2010. Its goal is to plan
and implement various strategic goals for growth and
expansion of the church in Glendale. As a decision-
making group for the outreach, the team works closely
and under the direction of the Area Pastor, Pastor Arnel
Aquino and the Assistant Area Pastor - Trainee, Pastor
Vhee Cabanting.

Our seven member team include (from left to right) Sis

Alma Constantino, Bro Allain Constantino, Sis Edlyn
Cabanban, Bro Ronnie Dacanay, Sis Flor Viloria, Bro
Donald Cabrera, and Sis Yani Cabrera. (In this picture
the team was joined with Tabitha Constantino and Ptr Mary
Juarana.) JIL Glendale welcomes our new Children’s Network
Head, Sis. Cecile Ybanez. Sis. Cici, as she is known to
most JIL members, has been faithfully serving in the
ministry even during the Azusa days of JIL. She is also an
active member of our VIA worship team today. Sis.
Cecile’s role is vital in keeping our children rooted and
grounded in the Word as she leads and guides them along
with our Children’s Network teachers and workers.

JIL Glendale also welcomes Bro. Louel Tojong as our

newly appointed JAM (Jesus’ Army of Musicians) Head.
Bro. Louel has also been serving faithfully in the ministry
since the Azusa days of JIL. His role will continue to
elevate our worship to the next level of excellence for
God’s glory. 3

First JIL USA Regional Management and
Administrative Skills (RMAS) Training
San Diego, CA - From November 10 to November 14,
thirty-seven church pastors, coordinators, regional, and area
leaders attended the first ever JIL USA Regional Management
and Administrative Skills (RMAS) Training held in JIL San
Diego Church. Leaders from 8 states, 29 churches / outreaches
got together in one place for training in church management and
administration.
It is not by accident that the acronym RMAS closely
resembles the word “armas” in tagalog meaning weapon or arms.
It was truly an experience of a lifetime. JIL USA leaders were
equipped or armed with the skills necessary in leading God’s
people and managing the church. The five-day training was
facilitated by Bro. Rene and Sis. Carmen Gonzales, who made a
special trip just to be with the JIL USA leaders. Each day was
filled with very informative lectures, personal talks, fun
icebreakers, and role-playing. Most days lasted from 9 a.m. to 9
p.m..
Included in the training was the very important JIL USA
milestone setting that required the formation of strategies and
action plans. It was during this time that everyone present
realized our full potential in fulfilling the church’s mission. USA,
the sleeping giant, is about to be awakened! Pastor Aldrin, our
Director for International Operations with his wife, Pastor
Monette Navo along with Pastor Bong Gonzales from Canada
were also in attendance.
Pastor Aldrin led the JIL USA leaders in a prophetic
gesture of claiming all of the 50 States of America for Jesus by
placing JIL logos on every state. The prophetic gesture extended
south to Mexico, the Caribbean Islands, and South America.
Each map of the United States, Mexico, and South America were
placed on the ground and each leader walked on top of them.
The vastness of this great country was dwarfed by the
love and brotherhood present during the training as each leader
held hands, embraced one another, and joined forces in declaring
JESUS IS LORD OVER THE USA!
