after you make the cross, you want to orient the sides of the cross, or edges , to the correct

color
start by finding 2 sides next to each other that match

if you can't find any that match up, you have to do this next part twice

holding those two sides to the top left (away from you)

if done right, the cross edges should match,

next step is to orient the corners
you want to start with one of that corners in the correct place, on your front right-hand side, like this

again, if none of them are correct, might have to do this pattern one more time

do this 1-4 times, until all corners are in the right spot

once to corners are in the right place, hold the cube with unmatched sides on right hand side, like so

do this 3-4 times, until solved
