COMPUTER SKILLS

I am proficient MS Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint. I have also recently

worked with SPSS in order to create frequency tables and cross tabulations.

QUESTIONS

1. What would you describe as being your proudest achievement:

a.) Related to your education or studies/degree?

Obtaining 1:1 standard results throughout Semester 1 of year 2 of my degree. This

includes assignments in research methods, space management, mystery shopping
and human resources.

 b.) In your personal life?

My proudest achievement is getting a place as part of the Disney Summer Work

Experience programme in 2011 as a lifeguard. This means I will be having a once in a
lifetime opportunity with a world renowned company.

3. Can you give me an example of a successful team that you have been a member of?

I work at Marks and Spencer, and in a team of people which varies from 3 to 6
members. We co-operate really well and are able to get the job done to the standard that
M&S requires.

• Why was it successful?

It was successful because we all have our separate roles within the team, although
communicate well to ensure that we finish on time and maintain standards.

• What was your role in the team?

I work on the savouries department and am also appointed team leader in the absence of
a manager. I act as a completer finisher which means multi-tasking towards the end of
my shift so that everything is finalised

3. Tell us about a time you were working on several projects or tasks and each had its
own set of priorities and deadlines.

Semester 1 of Year 2 of my degree required that I complete six core assignments.

• How did you organise your work?

I managed my time well and also took into account which assignment had the nearest
deadline and what percentage of the module it accounted for.

• How did you juggle other deadlines that you had?

Worked till all hours!! I also made sure to keep on top of research and reading, so that
when the time came to write the assignment, I had all the information I required.

• What did you do to ensure the quality of the work you delivered?

I kept in contact with my tutors so I knew what stage I should be at at certain points and
ensured that I was along the right tracks and not falling behind.

SUPPORTING INFORMATION

 We want to know more about why you have chosen Disney as the organisation to
complete your internship with as well as the reasons for selecting your preferred
placement area (i.e. Finance/Marketing/HR etc). Moreover why should Disney select you
to come and join their team for the next 12 months?

I would love to work as part of the Disney empire as I feel that this would be an amazing
opportunity and incredible way to learn about Disney’s organisational structure and
goals, and hopefully participate in meeting these objectives.

I chose my preferred placement area of Sales and Business/Management, as I feel that

these relate more to my course. They are also where my interests lie and I think
completing a business placement in these areas will enhance my employability skills and
improve my career prospects.

Thinking about the different types of industries within Disney, please give us some more
detail on where your personal interests lie. (e.g. Film, TV, Gaming, Online, Fashion,
Travel, Theatre, Retail, Music, Charity work, Sport)

My interest in fashion has deepened since I started work at Marks and Spencer and even
more so since I began my degree. I am not only able to appreciate visual merchandising
as a customer, but also from a business and management perspective. This relates to
retail and I have a deep appreciation for both industries.

I enjoy travelling and being able to experience different cultures. Most recently I have
visited New York and Rome, which are both cities with a great deal of history. I also
visited Viana do Castelo in Portugal, where I spent a week living with a local family, and
was able to experience the city through their eyes rather than as a tourist. As previously
stated I will be spending 12 weeks during the summer of 2011 working at the Walt Disney
World Resort in Florida.

I also spend my spare time watching films, listening to music and singing. I am a grade 5
singer and enjoy spending my spare time practising and developing my skill.
