Daily Lesson Plan in

Community Engagement, Solidarity, And Citizenship

I. Objectives

The learners will... Explain the importance of studying community dynamics and community action in
relation to applied social sciences and the learners’ future career options. (HUMSS_CSC12-IIIa-c-1)

A. Content Standards

The learners demonstrate an understanding of the integration of social science perspective and
community action.

B. Performance Standards

The learners shall be able to synthesize the integrative experience of implementing community-
action initiatives applying social sciences’ ideas and methods.

B. Motivation
The learners will participate in an activity entitled “ROLLER COASTER RIDE” wherein 3 ping-pong balls
will be relayed in semicircular improvised paper pipes.

Learners will be asked about their observations on the group dynamics as they performed the given
task. Particularly, the following focus questions should be answered:

1. How would you react if one of you fail to transfer the ping pong ball successfully?

2. Were there any conflicts that emerged? How was the group able to resolve the conflicts?

COLLABORATIVE LEARNING

In groups, the learners will be asked by the Teacher to determine the changes that happened in their
community by comparing 2015 and 2017 using the table below:

IV. Assignment

SOCIAL MAPPING. Learners, in a group, will prepare a social map featuring the different
networks of people and resources that exist in their communities.
