Post Injection System 1–Pipe - Post Injection Pipe

Properties

• The post injection system consists of a high pressure injection pipe which is closed at the foot of the
anchor (bent over, screwed, etc.).
• Each post injection pipe has at least one post injection valve. There can be installed several valves per
pipe, but it cannot be assumed that all valves will open because this depends on the distribution of the
pressure and on the grout body.
• While using multiple 1-pipe post injection systems at an anchor the distance between two valves
should be 0.5 up to 2.0 m at the bond length to ensure that the grout body will be injected at several
places to guarantee an enhancement of the whole bond length.
• The post injection system has to be fixed at the anchor (tape, wire, etc.).
• The earliest point of time of post injection is after about 6 to 10 hours after first injection (filling of the
borehole). It is not recommended to wait longer than 24 hours.
• Post injection pressures are usually between 30 and 60 bar.

The distance between the first valve and the knick should be about 40 cm.

Installation
1. Cutting the pipe on correct length

2. Bent over (about 10 cm overlap) post injection pipe at the anchor foot and fixation with tape

3. Measure, marking and drilling of necessary valves (3 holes / valve)

4. Fettling and wrapping the valves with self-sealing valve tape (AZPIB)

For post injection pipe 13/2 (AZNI 131) 25 cm long valve tape pieces (AZPIB) are used, for 16/2 (AZNI
161) 35 cm long pieces AZPIB and for 17/2 (AZNI 171) 45 cm long pieces AZPIB are used. The ends on
each side are pulled and wrapped. At the end the valves are sprayed with clear paint and the pipes are
fixed with steel tape on the anchor.
