the reign of God through integral education, envisions a community of

to:

are sensitive and responsive to the plight of the poor; and
3. The promotion of justice and peace and the preservation of the

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
First and foremost, praise and thanks to the God, the almighty for His

Facilitating Learning and Social Dimension.
I would like to express my deep and sincere gratitude to our instructor

providing invaluable guidance on this subject matter. His sincerity and
motivation have deeply inspired me. I would take this opportunity also to
thank our adviser Mrs. Gina N. Dreje for her understanding and untiring
support in all of our endeavours and keeping us to be motivated to learn in
our studies.
Special thanks also to Mrs. Nerynne Faye U. Dimpaso and Mrs.
Maricel Dumajel my critic teachers in Claret College of Isabela for
accommodating me and giving me the chance to observe in their classes.
The completion of this subject could not be possible without them.
I am extremely grateful to my husband for his love, caring,
understanding and sacrifices in supporting my education financially and
morally.
INTRODUCTION
Field study 4 is one of the series of studies in the Bachelor of
Elementary Education and the Bachelor of Secondary Education (BEED
and BSED). The main purpose of field study 4 is the observation of the
learners, school structure and the community.

This study is being used in order for us students to hone our

analytical skills and gain insights on different approaches of learning
considering the learner’s different phases of development and social
environment. It is designed to help the students verify the behaviour of the
child in the actual learning environment.

As we observe students, we need to consider their goals. We

observe their actions and listen to their comments to determine the
strategies they choose to attain. Children are competent learners, but as
teachers, they have to slow down, carefully observe and study documented
observation in order to understand the ideas that they are attending to
convey.

Field Study 4: Exploring the Curriculum

Environment Field Study 4

During my observation in my field study 4 at Claret College of Isabela

CCI, I can say that the environment of the school is favorable and ideal for
the pupils to learn. The school has appropriate facility and a well manage
classroom which is highly important to the learning of the pupils in the
aforesaid school. The Claret College of Isabela is geared towards its
mission of building students which is academically competitive.

Classroom Managements

Teachers are responsible for maintaining a positive learning

environment in the classroom. Managing a classroom is not an easy task.
A classroom that is out of control yields lower achievement for students and
high burnout rates for teachers. The classroom management at Claret
College of Isabela (CCI) is effective. Most of the pupils were attentive,
organized, focused and academically productive while class is ongoing.
The teachers also developed a good harmonious relationship with their
pupils by means of constant interaction and allowing them to participate
during class activities. They are ensuring that the class lesson run smoothly
without disruptive behavior from the pupils that may compromise the
delivery of her instruction.

Teacher

The teachers in Claret College of Isabela have developed systematic

and orderly techniques in teaching. They are teaching their students with
utmost sincerity and dedication in order for them to have right manner and
provide them with quality education that they need. During my observation
at Claret College of Isabela, I can say that the teachers are doing their work
properly but sometimes they take a hard time in handling their students
because some of them are slow learner for which they have to adjust in
order for the others to catch up in classroom lectures. Teachers need to
slow down and understand the capabilities of their students in academic
aspects. Teacher and students has developed a good relationship by
means of constant interaction and communication in the classroom.

Pupils

During classroom instructions most of the pupils were uncooperative

and talkative. Most of them are none reader and slow in writing. Sometimes
the pupils were stubborn and they do not listen to their teacher during the
class.

Conclusion

I learned from my experience as an observer that as a teacher there

is a need to have patience, dedication and the ability to adjust in different
aspects such as behaviour, culture and academic performance of the
learners. Teacher must have harmonious relationship between the learners
in order to gain their attention to have a successful teaching strategy. I
therefore conclude that this field studies with varied methods are useful in
teacher education.
