Job Title: MAIN-ONE Trainee Engineer

Location: Abuja

Reporting Line: Transmission Manager

Responsibilities

o The Trainee Engineer will be responsible for the day to day operations of
the Main-One terrestrial network comprising of network elements such as
Huawei OSN series, Dragon Wave HC & HC+ and ECI equipment within and
outside Abuja metropolis.
o From a technical sales standpoint, the resource will work closely with the
commercial sales team to foster sales within Abuja and it’s environ
through well-articulated network solutions that stemmed from purposeful
customers’ follow ups and the understanding of customers specific needs.

In addition, the Trainee Engineer will be responsible for the following:

o Troubleshooting and resolution of 1st and 2nd level network related


problems.
o Respond to and resolve SDH & MW networks issues within the timeframe
of severity level agreements
o Review and execute RPRs (re-provision requests) on Dragon Wave HC+,
Huawei OSN series (especially OSN3500, OSN500 & OSN8800) and ECI box
(BG-20 & BG-30) platforms with minimal supervision
o Support all aspects of the network management process assuring
requests, implementation, and problems are delivered as required with no
impact to the global communications.
o Deploy and document changes in accordance with problem and change
management process
o Participate in managing projects introduced by engineering team assuring
full implementation and documentation standards are adhered to.
Complete the projects objectives within timelines.
o Able to interpret, review and implement PDH and SDH networks designs
from the core network planning team.
o Perform most effective approach to restore, recover, or alter
configurations, logical or physical, to maintain service integrity
o Ensure that Main One’s global and metro fiber network documentation is
always accurate and up to date.
o Coordinate with the sales team in formulating and building up proposal
knowledge, including making technical demos and presentations to Main
One customers
o Convey customer feedback including feature requests and product issues
to Product Management and Development teams

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies


Qualifications & Skill:

o A Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in Electrical/Electronics and


Telecommunication Engineering
o At least 1-year post NYSC work experience in the configuration,
operations and maintenance of optical fiber SDH and wireless network
equipment.
o A working knowledge of microwave transmission and must have
undergone a basic training in optical and wireless networks with focus on
SDH/PDH/IP transmission standards/protocols.
o Good understanding of telecommunications/engineering principles,
transmission, and access networks, IP networks, metro Ethernet etc.
o In-depth knowledge of IP and IP related Technology and protocols such as
BGP, MPLS, and DNS etc.
o Basic knowledge of the Nigerian telecommunication market and/or
experience working in a telecommunications environment
o Ability to interpret topography, network design maps and AutoCAD
Designs/and or Visio app.
o Structured cabling experience is a must.
o Ability to use E-Analyzer, SDH Analyzer and other signal testing
tools/instrument and diverse bandwidth test apps.

Job Title: BMS Engineer

Location: Lagos
Department: Technical
Reporting Line: Transmission Manager
Number to Hire: 2

Responsibilities

o The Building Management System (BMS) Engineer will be responsible for


the day to day operations and monitoring of the MDXi Lekki Data Center,
comprising of Data Center electrical & mechanical components such as
CHILLERS, CRAC/CRAH VESDA & FM200, Access Control, CCTV, Water
Leakage Detection etc., equipment within and outside Lagos. From a
technical support’s standpoint, the resource will work closely with
technical team.

In addition, the BMS Engineer will be responsible for the following:

o Knowledge of BMS server, DCIM Server, NVR, CHILLERS, CRAH/CRAC,


VESDA & FM200, Access Control , CCTV Systems, HVAC Systems,
intrusion detection etc.
o Monitoring and reporting of All Electrical systems (Energy Meters, UPS,
PDU, Feeders & Transformers) Reading and Consumption According daily,
weekly and monthly.
o Monitoring and reporting of all mechanical systems (Chillers, CRAH/CRAC,
AHU, Access Control etc.), daily, weekly and monthly.
o Preparation and Submission of Daily, Weekly and Monthly Reports.
o Troubleshoot and fix day to day operational problems pertaining to BMS
system.
o Support for Reviews & Audits, Audit tracker updating and coordination.
o Ensuring that the team is meeting the SLAs with internal clients in all
aspects.
o You will support and ensure that all applicable security standards -
including the ISO9001, ISO27001 (ISMS), PCI Data Security Standard (PCI
DSS) are duly complied with for quality assurance.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies


o B.Sc in Electrical and Electronics/Mechanical/Computer Engineering or
other relevant disciplines with at least 2-5 yrs work experience.
o Understanding of electrical, mechanical and telecommunications
principles, transmission, and IP networks etc.
o knowledge of structured cabling.

Job Title: Officer - IHS IT Quality Assurance

Summary

o Utilize standard processes and activities to achieve common, consistent


and accurate Quality Assurance (QA) outcomes to support IT deliverables,
and work with the wider enterprise business-user community to ensure
business demands on and deliverables from IT are of the highest quality.

Responsibilities

o Work with IT Business Quality Manager to design, develop and implement


test plans, scripts, and tools using detailed business requirements
documentation provided by business analysts.

Job Title: MTN General Manager, IS Infrastructure

Job Description

o To develop and manage all system operations for the Information Systems
Group (IS) and ensure that adequate capacity, system availability and

Job Title: MTN Engineer RF Optimization

Location: Lagos

Job Description

o Coordinate and monitor Managed Services vendors to ensure that carry


out optimization activities in line with MTNN strategy in order to achieve
cell level KPI’s without compromising Network integrity and customer
experience.
o Measure Network Capacity and coverage enhancement functions within
the assigned cluster with: o Capacity - Ensure MTNN network
accommodates anticipated subscriber level 3 months ahead o Coverage –
Oversee enhancement and coverage optimization with TMA, MHA and
indoor repeaters. o Technology integration – Ensure multiservice sites (2G,
3G, etc) are properly designed and integrated with minimal complexity and

Job Description     

o Manage the smooth operation of all OSS/NMS platforms ensuring proper


fault management, configuration management, performance management
and security management are provided for on all Network elements on the
network in line with the overall business objective.
o Serve the Division’s internal customers and provide solutions to improve
the customer experience.

Department Purpose:

o The ICT Development Department of the CTO oversees the operational


revenue of the CTO and reports on revenue generation and ICT
development activities of the organisation. The Department comprises of
three (3) divisions  as follows:
o ICT Technical Support and Consultancy Division - Responsible for
technical support and assistance, project development and
management, research, and consultancy for CTO Members and non-
members taking into consideration the interest of stakeholders, and
ensuring effective planning, control and monitoring of all projects
globally.
o Capacity Development Division - Responsible for managing and
expanding the Programme for Development Training (PDT) and the
development and delivery of other courses and their
commercialization.
o Events Division - Responsible for delivering all Events and
