MONITOR

A monitor looks like a TV screen. It shows whatever you type on the keyboard or draw with the
mouse.

A computer monitor is an output device that displays information in pictorial form. A monitor
usually comprises the visual display, circuitry, casing, and power supply.
CPU (CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT)

The CPU itself is a core component of what makes a computer a computer, but it isn’t the
computer itself — it’s just the brains of the operation. It’s a small computer chip that sits atop the
main circuit board (motherboard or mainboard) of a computer, whether that’s a desktop PC,
laptop, or tablet. It’s distinctly separate from the memory, which is where information is stored,
and the graphics card or graphics chip, which handles all rendering of video and 3D graphics to
your monitor or screen.
KEYBOARD AND MOUSE

The keyboard is used for entering data into the computer system. It can type words, numbers and
symbols. More information of computer keyboard

The mouse is a pointing device. You can give input to the computer with the help of the

SPEAKERS

The speakers are the output devices that produce different types of sounds processed by the
computer. You can listen to songs or speeches stored in the computer with the help of speakers.

PRINTER

A printer prints the results of your work from the computer screen on a sheet of paper. This is
called a printout.
MONITOR

A monitor is an electronic visual computer display that includes a screen, circuitry and the case
in which that circuitry is enclosed. Older computer monitors made use of cathode ray tubes
(CRT), which made them large, heavy and inefficient. Nowadays, flat-screen LCD monitors are
used in devices like laptops, PDAs and desktop computers because they are lighter and more
energy efficient.
CPU (CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT)

The central processing unit (CPU) is the unit which performs most of the processing inside a
computer. To control instructions and data flow to and from other parts of the computer, the CPU
relies heavily on a chipset, which is a group of microchips located on the motherboard.
The CPU has two components:

 Control Unit: extracts instructions from memory and decodes and executes them
 Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU): handles arithmetic and logical operations

To function properly, the CPU relies on the system clock, memory, secondary storage, and data
and address buses.
This term is also known as a central processor, microprocessor or chip.
KEYBOARD AND MOUSE
A keyboard is a peripheral device that enables a user to input text into a computer or any other
electronic machinery. A keyboard is an input device and is the most basic way for the user to
communicate with a computer. This device is patterned after its predecessor, the typewriter, from
which the keyboard inherited its layout, although the keys or letters are arranged to function as
electronic switches. The keys include punctuation, alphanumeric and special keys like the
Windows key and various multimedia keys, which have specific functions assigned to them.

A mouse is a small handheld input device that controls a computer screen's cursor or pointer in
conjunction with the way it is moved on a flat surface. The mouse term name originates from its
likeness to a small, corded and elliptical shaped device that looks like a mouse tail. Some mouse
devices have integrated features, such as extra buttons that may be programmed and assigned
with different commands.
Because the mouse reduces the use of a keyboard, its invention and continuous innovation is
considered one of the most important breakthroughs in computer ergonomics.
SPEAKERS

A speaker is a term used to describe the user who is giving vocal commands to a software
program. 2. A computer speaker is an output hardware device that connects to a computer to
generate sound. The signal used to produce the sound that comes from a computer speaker is
created by the computer's sound card.

PRINTER

A printer is an external hardware output device that takes the electronic data stored on a
computer or other device and generates a hard copy of it. For example, if you created a report on
your computer, you could print several copies to hand out at a staff meeting. Printers are one of
the most popular computer peripherals and are commonly used to print text and photos.
MONITOR

The term "monitor" is often used synonymously with "computer screen" or "display." The
monitor displays the computer's user interface and open programs, allowing the user to interact
with the computer, typically using the keyboard and mouse.
CPU (CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT)

Stands for "Central Processing Unit." The CPU is the primary component of a computer that
processes instructions. It runs the operating system and applications, constantly
receiving input from the user or active software programs. It processes the data and
produces output, which may stored by an application or displayed on the screen.

The CPU contains at least one processor, which is the actual chip inside the CPU that performs
calculations. For many years, most CPUs only had one processor, but now it is common for a
single CPU to have at least two processors or "processing cores." A CPU with two processing
cores is called a dual-core CPU and models with four cores are called quad-core CPUs. High-end
CPUs may have six (hexa-core) or even eight (octo-core) processors. A computer may also have
more than one CPU, which each have multiple cores. For example, a server with two hexa-core
CPUs has a total of 12 processors.
KEYBOARD AND MOUSE

The keyboard is one of the primary input devices used with a computer. The keyboard's design
comes from the original typewriter keyboards, which arranged letters and numbers in a way that
prevented the type-bars from getting jammed when typing quickly. This keyboard layout is
known as the QWERTY design, which gets its name from the first six letters across in the upper-
left-hand corner of the keyboard.
SPEAKERS

A speaker is a term used to describe the user who is giving vocal commands to a software
program. 2. A computer speaker is an output hardware device that connects to a computer to
generate sound. The signal used to produce the sound that comes from a computer speaker is
created by the computer's sound card.

PRINTER

A printer is an output device that prints paper documents. This includes text documents, images,
or a combination of both. The two most common types of printers are inkjet and laser printers.
Inkjet printers are commonly used by consumers, while laser printers are a typical choice for
businesses. Dot matrix printers, which have become increasingly rare, are still used for basic text
printing.
MONITOR

A display screen used to provide visual output from a computer, cable box, video camera, VCR
or other video generating device. Computer monitors use CRT and LCD technology, while TV
monitors use CRT, LCD and plasma technologies.
CPU (CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT)

(Central Processing Unit) The computing part of the computer. Also called the "processor," the
CPU is made up of the control unit, which executes the instructions, and the ALU, which
performs the calculations and logical operations. Today, the CPUs of almost all computers are
contained on a single microprocessor chip, and multiple processing units on one chip are
commonplace

SPEAKERS

A device that converts analog audio signals into the equivalent air vibrations in order to make
audible sound. When CRT monitors were the norm, speakers designed for computers were
shielded to avoid magnetic interference with the CRT's magnetic coil.

PRINTER

Computer printer, Electronic device that accepts text files or images from a computer and
transfers them to a medium such as paper or film. It can be connected directly to the computer or
indirectly via a network. Printers are classified as impact printers (in which the print medium is
physically struck) and non-impact printer
MONITOR

A computer monitor is an output device which displays information in pictorial form. A monitor
usually comprises the display device, circuitry, casing, and power supply. The display device in
modern monitors is typically a thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) with LED
backlighting having replaced cold-cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL) backlighting. Older
monitors used a cathode ray tube (CRT). Monitors are connected to the computer
via VGA, Digital Visual Interface (DVI), HDMI, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt, low-voltage
differential signaling (LVDS) or other proprietary connectors and signals.
CPU (CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT)

A central processing unit (CPU) is an important part of almost every computer. The CPU sends
signals to control the other parts of the computer, almost like how a brain controls a body.

The CPU is an electronic machine that works on a list of things to do, called instructions. It reads
the list of instructions and does (executes) each one in order. A list of instructions that a CPU can
run is a computer program.

The speed that a CPU works at is measured in hertz (Hz). Modern processors often run so fast
that gigahertz (GHz) is used instead. One gigahertz is one billion cycles per second.

Most CPUs used in desktop (home) computers are made by either Intel or Advanced Micro
Devices (usually shortened to AMD). Some other companies that make CPUs are ARM, IBM,
and Sun Microsystems. Their CPUs are usually used for more specialized things, like in mobile
phones, cars, game consoles, or in the military.
KEYBOARD AND MOUSE

A computer keyboard is an input device that allows a person to enter letters, numbers, and
other symbols (these are called characters) into a computer. It is one of the most used input
devices for computers. Using a keyboard to enter lots of data is called typing.

A keyboard contains many mechanical switches or push-buttons called "keys". When one of
these are pushed, an electrical circuit is closed, and the keyboard sends a signal to the computer
that tells it what letter, number or symbol it would like to be shown on the screen. The
computer's CPU then shows the character on the screen, usually at the place where the cursor is.
Besides entering characters, computer keyboards also have keys that change the symbol (such
as shift or caps lock) or gives the computer special commands (such as the arrow keys, CTRL
and ALT). These keys depend on the operating system which the keyboard is being used on.

A computer mouse is an input device that is most often used with a personal computer. Moving a
mouse along a flat surface can move the on-screen cursor to different items on the screen. Items
can be moved or selected by pressing the mouse buttons (called clicking).

It is called a computer mouse because of the wire that connects the mouse to the computer. The
people who designed the first computer mice thought that it looked like the tail on a mouse.
Today, many computer mice use wireless technology and have no wire.
SPEAKERS

A computer speaker is an output hardware device that connects to a computer to generate sound.
The signal used to produce the sound that comes from a computer speaker is created by the
computer's sound card.

PRINTER

A printer is a piece of hardware for a computer. It allows a user to print items on paper, such as
letters and pictures. Mostly a printer prints under the control of a computer. Many can also work
as a copying machine or with a digital camera to print directly without using a computer.
