Information Security Architect

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified Information Security
Architect to join the Information Security Department in IT Division at
Corporate Office.
Key Performance Outputs Technical Skills and Experience
The successful candidate reporting to the Senior Manager-
Information Security will be responsible for the following:
• Lead the Information Security Architecture function and
manage all activities related to information security
architecture and ensure control mechanisms for information
security breaches operate effectively;
• Provide timely information and security guides to ACSA
project team for the planning and development of technology
solutions;
• Ensure that all security architecture requirements are
approved;
• Maintain the security architecture framework ensuring any
breaches/issues are controlled through effective mechanisms
and escalate where required to the Senior Manager of
Information Security for resolution;
• Update IT security architecture, ACSA information security
policies and governance frameworks and maintain
confidentiality, integrity and availability information security
components;
• Optimise security processes and evaluate current control
mechanisms continuously for improvement throughout ACSA
information systems;
• Design and maintain architecture blueprint to mitigate ACSA
information system risks;
This position will be filled in line with ACSA’s values and
Employment Equity policy and plan. Preference will be given
to members of designated groups that are under- represented
and will also be advertised externally.
The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such
will be required:
• Bachelor’s degree in IT Information Security
• 4 years operational experience in Technical Security
Architecture and IT Information Security Architecture
and Systems
• Advanced Micro Soft Office
Competencies
This position requires a candidate who consistently
achieves results, meet goals and targets, have exceptional
communication skills (written and verbal) and attention to
detail. It is essential that the successful incumbent is able to
take new ideas from conception to fruition by managing the
innovation process, build and manage social networks
inside and outside the organisation with a high level of
productivity and good in setting definite milestones and be
a good problem solver.
