MINUTES OF THE ORIENTATION OF MEMBERS


February 22, 2020

MEETING PROPER:

 The meeting started with the checking of attendance. Mr. Jorge Cantos grouped the students in
two (2) for the upcoming community service/project. He discussed the requirements needed for
the Local Off-Campus Activity according to CHED Memo 63 s. 2017. These are the following:
o Syllabus is provided by the instructor
o Destination – should not exceed 10 km away from BatStateU Main
o Handbook – it excerpted in the Student Handbook
o Consent of the Parents/Guardian - with a photocopy of their valid ID
o Medical Clearance, first make an appointment in the Infirmary
o Personnel-in-Charge
o First Aid Kit should be provided by each group
o Fees/Fund Source (it included in the Project Proposal
o Insurance can be attain in RGO
o Mobility - the students agree to commute than to rent a vehicle
o Letter to LGU - Acknowledgement Letter
o Letter to inform parent
o Learning Journals – There should be narrative report of each group per week and;
o Emergency Preparedness Plan

 The class was asked to be grouped into two groups that should have head committees for each
group. The groups voted their officers. After that, they talked about which barangay they will
choose for their community service/project. This community service/project will be done by the
students to help different groups of people (children, senior citizens, persons with disabilities,
even animals and the environment) in their chosen barangay. In this activity, the students will not
only enjoy helping others but will also improve their community. Mr. Cantos suggest to
incorporate some activities about the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and the Climate Change
Adaptation (CCA), also the holistic development of Children in specific barangays. After that, all
the information are well disseminated. The group continued in creating a project proposal until
the end of the class.
