Our students will carry out different activities: they will present the main aim of the project,
participate in different workshops and discussion, organize activities in visiting country, introduce
their countries' culture, work in groups searching for a common goal, assume roles, so they will
establish friendship bonds with other partners.
The target of the activity is to show Stem subjects are related to the world of Science - Nature-
MAths- Art and Human Body.
In fact Nature and Art are always connected in a unique structure from which it seems impossible
to escape. The main aim of this work is to show how mathematics improve the technique of
representation of the real to develop new models of decoration or to give rational dignity to one's
artistic work.
Since ancient times the golden proportion(Golden Ratio or Fibonacci number) has became the
standard of reference for perfection, grace and harmony, both in architecture, sculpture, painting,
music and in the same nature.
In order to realize the main theme of this project Romanian team list a series of activities that will
be carried out, based on Multiple Intelligences Theory of H. Gardner.
The tasks carry out on this theory are:
Tasks based on multiple intelligence theory
1. Verbal-linguistic intelligence – read and summarize an article about Fibonacci's number
throughout history from books, internet.
2. Logical-Mathematical Intelligence: play number game based on Fibonacci's number and
create your own game
3. Visual-Spatial Intelligence – collect data about Golden Ratio in the nature
4. Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence – accomplish classroom resources about Golden ratio with
Geogebra Math app
5. Musical Intelligence – introducing a topic with a song
6. Intrapersonal Intelligence – make individual experiments at home using real things to count
the spirals according to Golden ratio
7. Interpersonal Intelligence – group work - using spirals designe a picture and build models
using quilling technique
8. Naturalistic Intelligence - take field trips to natural areas
In order to solve the tasks during the mobility in Romania various activities will be organized such
as:
Develope a workshop for students and teachers:“how to use Geogebra app” to calculate
golden ratio using series of number and spirals
Carry out outdoor activities to collect data about Golden Ratio in the nature. For this
purpose we will organize a boating on the Danube river and visiting ecosystem Braila
Small Pond (it looks like the one from Danube Delta). Students will make photos and
created a photo album till the end of the mobility.
Using information collected through outdoor activities, students from partner schools
under the guidance of some specialists from the County Library, using spirals designe a
picture and build models using quilling technique
Practical activities will be carry out by students helping by host math teachers to calculate
Fibonacci series and spiral through count the spiral on the real things – pine, flower,
leaves
We will also visit the city of Braila located on the bank of the Danube River (40 km from
the village of Stăncuţa), where students and teachers will analyze the old architecture of
the city to observe in situ the divine proportions of the golden ratio.
During the mobility there will be coordinators meetings so that we can agree on different aspects:
preparing the draft of documents for project's booklet by assessing project's impact
developing a comparative analysis with the situation from the beginning of the project
preparing the draft of the two projects products a PHOTO BOOK / ALBUM which gathers
all the activities done during the project and a VIDEO DOCUMENTARY
establish the responsibility for preparing the final report.
Expected results: During the week, teachers will exchange their methods in order to be more
adapted to the new needs of the school. Teachers, who participate in meeting events will receive
exclusive methodological materials. They will teach other teachers in their institution how to use
different methodologies.
Coordinators in every school will analyse their countries education system.
The methodologies used will be mainly collaborative, active and based on ICT, based on
Multiple Intelligences Theory to achieve an effective learning. The results will be a wider
knowledge on European projects and we will give visibility to the main contents of our project.
This mobility and the activities planned are related to the normal activities of the Romanian
school as these topics are usually covered on the Romanian curriculum. With the project a
European dimension will be added to these contents making them more relavant and interesting
for students.
Does this activity combine physical mobility with virtual exchanges through eTwinning? Yes
Please explain how this will be achieved and what the expected benefits are.
