SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN TLE 8

GRADE 8 – RESPONSIBILITY
(7:15 – 8:15)
Feb 18, 2020

CONTENT STANDARD

 The learners demonstrate understanding of concepts and underlying principle in

performing mensuration and calculation

PERFORMANCE STANDARD

 The leaner independently perform accurate measurements and calculation based on

given task.

LEARNING COMPETENCIES

-TLE – ICTS7/8MC OF -2

2.1 Perform Calculation needed to complete work tasks are performed using the four
fundamentals operations (addition, subtractions, multiplication and division)

2.2 Employ Numerical computation is self-checked and corrected for accuracy

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the class, the students must be able to:

a. Perform basic operation skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) in the
computation
b. Accurately obtain the answer/measurements in computation; and
c. Value the importance of measurements in our life

II. SUBJECT MATTER

TOPIC: Perform Mensuration and Calculation

III. LEARNING RESOURCES

REFERENCE: K to 12 Computer Hardware Servicing Learning Module (pp.42-46)

MATERIALS: laptop, projector/ TV, chalkboard, chalk, marker

IV. PROCEDURE

A. DAILY ROUTINE

o Prayer
o Greetings
o Checking of attendance
o Checking the cleanliness of the classroom
 Review of the previous lesson

B. ACTIVITY

The teacher will show a video clip about Binary to decimal as an introduction of the
new lesson. Students will be asked to do note-taking while watching the video clip.

C. ANALYSIS

The teacher will let his students to give their insights, observation from their note-
taking about the video they watched.

D. ABSTRACTION

For further understanding, the teacher will explain and discuss the different terms on
the topic and the proper way of converting and computing the Binary to Decimal and vice
versa.

1. Why do we need to learn to convert decimal to binary?

2. How to convert decimal to binary and vice versa?
3. How can we apply it in our daily life?

E. APPLICATION

Collaborative Activity: Quiz Bee

The class will be divided into five groups. There will be 3 different level of questions,
the easy, average and difficult. The students will work as a team to compute and to convert
the decimal to binary and bits to bytes.

1. For easy level, every question is equivalent to 3points

2. For ever average level, every correct answer is equivalent to 5/ points
3. And for the difficult level, every correct answer is equivalent to 5 points.
Each ;eve; has 5 question, the group who will get the highest score after the drill will be the
winner

V. EVALUATION

Directions: Convert the decimal numbers to binary. Perform checking to verify the answers.
