Veeam Reporter 4.0.2 | Release Notes
New Features
The following is a list of features introduced in version 4.0.2:
• Advanced Capacity Planning: the Capacity Planning report pack now provides
recommendations for adding host and storage resources. New capabilities also allow
you to analyze information about datastore provisioning and storage allocations.
With enhanced what-if modeling, you can specify custom configuration details for
new types of hosts and VMs.
• Get to Know Veeam Reporter report pack: the Get to Know Veeam Reporter report
pack provides out-of-the-box reports for discovering storage resource consumption
by abandoned virtual machines, reporting DRS and HA status and resource
consumption by clusters, and tracking the upgrade status and distribution of
hypervisor versions across hosts.
Resolved Issues
The following is a list of issues resolved in version 4.0.2:
Web UI
• On large deployments, the Web UI can become unresponsive for extended periods of
time when browsing.
Collection jobs
• File-search tasks might timeout depending on the number of datastores in the virtual
environment.
• ESX(i) hosts might be missing from the infrastructure view due to incorrect
multipathing configurations.
• The ESX(i) host licenses report might have empty fields when collecting information
from vSphere 4.1 hosts.
• Information for virtual objects, such as vApps and Distributed Virtual Switches, may
not be collected from a vSphere 4.1 environment.
SSRS Reports
• The Performance report pack may display “No Data Available” due to the service error
“Unable to cast object of type 'System.Int64[]' to type 'System.String[]'.”
• The Capacity Planning report pack may fail with “Query exectuion failed for dataset
'Dataset1'” error if a host or other virtual object was moved between clusters.

Known Issues
The following is a list of issues known to exist at the time of the Veeam Reporter 4.0.2 release:
General
• Computers with Veeam Reporter Scheduling service, Microsoft SQL server and
Microsoft SSRS server must be located in the same time zone and have synchronized
time. Otherwise, reports may produce unexpected results.
• The Web UI expires after 20 minutes of inactivity, and continuing to use it may
produce unexpected results. To work around this issue, close and re-open the
Reporter web site.
SSRS Reports
• Some hyperlinks inside SSRS reports may expire after 20-30 minutes due to SSRS
implementation specifics.
• Exported SSRS reports have embedded hyperlinks disabled. This is by SSRS export
functionality design.
• Sorting does not work for SSRS infrastructure reports when grouping is in use.
• Performance reports may be empty if the selected time period is less than a few days.
• Hiding an object does not affect existing SSRS reports. To work around this issue,
update and save all reports containing the object before hiding the object.
• Fault-tolerant VMs are always shown as “modified” due to constant changes of the
“Vmx File Short” property.
Offline Reports
• Inherited permissions are missing from Permissions reports created on objects of a
lower level than the object on which permissions are defined.
Audit Data
• The audit trail in the Change Management report does not show any events if the
selected time range does not span at least 2 data collection sessions.
• Veeam Reporter will fail to collect audit data with the “Failed to initialize audit data
collection: Failed to login to "vc40" by SOAP, port 443, user "vc40user", proxy srv: port:0
(The operation has timed out)” error if the user account that was provided when

adding the vCenter Server to Veeam Reporter does not have privileges for the whole
vCenter Server.
Reporting Jobs
• Special symbols are not supported in the script parameters for reporting jobs.
• Large report files may not be delivered properly because the email server is unable to
process large attachments correctly. If this happens, the attachment will be truncated
to 64 bytes. To work around this issue, either adjust email server settings, or configure
the reporting job to save reports to a shared folder.
Localization
• Some offline reports, (such as PDF reports, may display double-byte characters
incorrectly.
Setup
• Setup may fail to install new SQL Server instance if the server is pending reboots after
installing security updates.
• Setup fails to install a new SSRS Server instance on Windows XP if the default web IIS
site is configured to use port 8080.
• Setup may fail with “Error 27502. Could not connect to Microsoft SQL Server” error when
installing on a Terminal Server.
Globalization
• Non-latin characters are not supported in the product’s installation path, in the
Veeam Reporter service account name and in virtual machine properties.

Licensing
Veeam Reporter is available in two versions: a full version featuring full application
functionality and a Free Edition version featuring limited application functionality. Veeam
Reporter Free Edition does not require you to provide a license during the product’s setup.
Without a license file, it can be used for up to 100 days. After that, you will be asked to install a

request an extended trial license key. Please be aware that the standard trial license supports
up to 16 sockets; your Veeam representative can help you if you need a license for more
sockets.
