Basic idea: There is a shortfall of trained physical rehabilitation health
professionals in Namibia, particularly in state and private health
institutions. Therefore, most musculoskeletal conditioned and
neural patients develop complications that impairs their function
and participation activities. As such, the development of a
rehabilitation center is needed to offer healthcare services to
underserved population in Namibia
Project Title: Namibia Rehabilitation Healthcare Centre (NRHC)

Work Programme Area(s): 1.0 Conduct in-house training of physical rehabilitation assistants
2.0 Therapeutic rehab program to be offered:
2.1 physical rehabilitation
2.2 Psychological therapy
2.3 Psychiatry rehabilitation
2.4 Nursing care

Project Type: Patient rehabilitation and professional assistants training project

Objectives: 1. To off primary healthcare services to physically,

emotionally and psychological challenged and limited
patients.
2. To train qualified health rehabilitation assistants in
order to support the government’s effort towards
prevention of physical disabilities and psycho-social
dysfunctions among Namibian population.
Key Results: 1. Produce qualified trained professionals for health
service delivery to the nation
2. Promote prevention of physical impairments and
challenges
3. Promote skills training programs

Impact: 1. There will be national and community social-

economic empowerment through employment
creation and jobs among the youth
2. Prevention of unnecessary death and disability rate
among the people – health population for national
development
