It is difficult and even maybe impossible to imagine future learning environments not supported

in one way or another by (ICT). When looking at the current widespread diffusion and use of
(ICT) in modern societies, especially by the students. Then it should be clear that (ICT) would
affect the complete learning process today and the future. In other words, a widespread belief
that (ICT) have an important role to play in changing and modernizing educational system and
ways of learning to students in universities and thus, the main focus of this assignment to is to
discuss how the study of ICT is very cardinal to all university students.

Research studies have brought forward the fact that the use of ICT as well as other teaching
strategies has enabled students to move to higher-order thinking (Jonassen & Carr, 2000;
Kearney &Treagust, 2001; Oliver & Hannafin, 2000). Thus, students develop constructive
thinking skills. As a result the students are learning in order to prepare themselves for the future
information age. (Salomon, 1993). According Kozma (2005) ICT can be used to enhance student
understanding thus increasing the quality of Education.

In addition, Papert (1997) noted the advantages of ICT studies for students and they may be as
such: the students are more motivated and as such they become more creative when they are
faced with new learning environments. Also, they are prone to assimilate in a disciplined way
working collaboratively with their peers. As a result, they are able to generate knowledge. They
will have the capacity to handle rapid change in any type of environment.

Some theorists acknowledge that the study of ICT can help students to become knowledgeable,
reduce the extent to which direct instructions are given to them, and give educators a chance to
help those students with special educational needs (Iding, Crosby, & Speitel, 2002; Shamatha,
Peressini, & Meymaris 2004; Romeo, 2006).

In present days the study of ICT to all university students is very important for it provides
opportunities for students know how to operate, store, manipulate, and retrieve information and
encourage independent and active learning, and self-responsibility for learning such as distance
learning, motivate teachers and students to continue using learning outside school hours. Apart
from being the facilitator in the classroom, if the teacher/trainer uses ICT and activities with
specific objectives and elective communication devoid of fear, shy and hesitation is promised.
