Research Concepts

1. Internet of Things

DENSITY BASED TRAFFIC CONTROL USING IoT

Road congestion is the main cause for slower speed, longer waiting time,
accidents and frustration. Therefore, to help to overcome such issue, the
initiation of Density-based Traffic Light using Raspberry Pi 3 is carried out to
reduce traffic through signal control. One major cause identified is traffic
congestion. The traffic congestion trend needs to be monitored closely to ensure
the development of infrastructure is carried out effectively .

2. Embedded Technology
Android Based Home Automation System Using Bluetooth & Voice
Command
Home automation system which would use a smartphone to enable any user to
operate all the appliances. The system has three components: an Arduino
microcontroller for connecting the appliances, a Bluetooth module for signal
transfer, and a smartphone running the Android application. The system also
supports voice command for naïve users with command sensing.
3. Connectivity
Multi-paths Routing with Load Balancing for Internet Access in Wireless
Mesh Networks
Novel multi-paths routing framework for the Internet access through WMNs by
using multiple access routers (ARs) simultaneously. Within this framework, an
efficient load balancing scheme has been proposed to further increase the
network performance. This load balancing scheme is named Reactive Load
Balancing (RLB). Extensive simulation experiments have been carried out to
validate the proposed solutions.
4. Systems Development

Exploring the Nuances of 'Wickedness' in Information Systems

Development

To use a theoretical framework to analyze case study findings from an

interdisciplinary connected health project. In particular, the researchers break
open the social aspects of wickedness and explore their impact on shared
understanding and shared commitment in ISD projects. The research
highlights the implications that these nuances have for group decision-making
in distributed ISD project teams.

5. Game Development

Gender and Systems of Warm Interaction in Digital Games

This research considers the ways in which digital game mechanics

(interactive inputs) contribute to games’ worldbuilding. In particular, this work
is concerned with the replication and reinforcement of problematic gender
roles through game mechanics that express positive (“warm”) interactions
between characters, namely healing, protection, and building relationships.
The method used has been adapted from structural analysis via literary
theory, as informed by game studies, media studies methodologies, and
feminist epistemologies.

6. Database

LAUNDRY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION

This application is developed to manage the laundry service and provide an

automated backup and recovery for security management of information in
the laundry. It is a client-server system which can only be access within three
(3) main users; there are database administrator, manager, and staff. Only
authorized user can login into the system and view the LMS application.

7. Data Mining
Prognosis of Diabetes by Performing Data Mining of HbA1c

This paper helps in foreseeing diabetes by applying data mining strategy. The
revelation of information from clinical datasets is significant so as to make
powerful medical determination. The point of data mining is to extricate
information from data put away in dataset and produce clear and reasonable
depiction of examples. Diabetes is an interminable sickness and a significant
general wellbeing challenge around the world.
8. Data Warehousing

Modelling data warehouses and OLAP applications by means of

dialogue objects

The idea of data warehouses is to provide condensed information in order to

support managers in the analysis of business facts such as sales, costs,
profits, etc. along various dimensions such as geography, organization, time,
etc. This research will show how to model data warehouses with OLAP
functionality by means of dialogue objects. These are extended and possibly
materialized views on collections of operative databases and couple structural
and behavioral aspects of application units.
