About CERB
The Centre of Excellence in Responsible Business (CERB) is the first of the Pakistan Business
Council’s outreach initiatives to build capacity and capability of businesses in Pakistan.
CERB’s vision is to assist Pakistani businesses to pursue long term sustainability and value
creation, and its mission is to strengthen and grow the formal sector enabling large, small
and medium sized businesses to work in an integrated value chain and contribute towards
responsible, inclusive and sustainable development. As part of its strategic objectives,
CERB engages with businesses and industry leaders to provide a clear direction towards
conducting responsible business in Pakistan. It leverages private sector growth as a means
for development and poverty reduction and is guided in doing so by the United Nations
Sustainable Development Goals framework.
Responsibilities
Include but are not restricted to:
Research
• Research for material that can add to CERB’s thought leadership through blogs on
the website and the newsletter.
• Collate research on advances in inclusive development, sustainable development,
ethics, values, corporate governance and the Sustainable Development Goals
• Assist in the research and development of publications, case studies, surveys, and
other research work.
• Identify speaking opportunities and relevant events for CERB team.
• Identify relevant persons/companies to add to CERB’s database. Ensure that the
database is regularly cleaned and updated.
Communications
• Maintain CERB’s online platforms (website, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) and work
towards increasing followers and engagement. Work closely with Programme
Managers to develop regular and attractive content.
• Create collateral for CERB’s events such as standees, backdrops, certificates, and
brochures.
• Develop a PR strategy, and ensure CERB events receive media coverage.
• Work closely with team to develop and design CERB
newsletter.
• Manage repository of images and logos for CERB
events and publications.
• Assist staff in developing presentations and other content.
Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in social sciences, humanities, communication, media sciences,
or design.
• At least one year of experience in communications, marketing, and/or event
management.
• An interest in sustainable and inclusive development.
• Working knowledge of graphic design platforms especially InDesign. Video editing
knowledge would be considered a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and accomplish short- and
long- term deadlines with a heavy workload.
• Good public presence and the ability to interact with many types of people at
different levels.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
